Lol I did my swap from parts out of a junk yard and also could not use my transmission mount. I even swapped my e4od to aC6 and still had to use square tubing to build a trany mount.

How did you know where to mount the control arm frame brackets? The instructions don’t say anything about an existing hole to use as a reference or somewhere to measure from. Thx

can you maybe swap the radius arm brackets around and onto the other side and maybe have just enough clearance? either way sweet build!

These brackets really only go on one way... just they weren't designed in mind when paired with a E40D transmission...

I only helped do the front solid axle swap and crossmemeber.... then Mike took it back home to finish up brake lines etc. I'll have to ask him what he did for the rear.

Any issues with the stearing box ripping of the frame with bigger tires
@BuildItWheelItExploreIt
@BuildItWheelItExploreIt Жыл бұрын
I've never heard of a steering gear being ripped from the frame of any fullsize broncos or even rangers, explorer, etc. Usually anyone that runs larger than 35s should at least have hydro ram assist which would take most of the load off the steering gear.

Both the front and rear bumpers are from RLC Welding and Fabrication, then on the front I added that prerunner bar from a different source.

you did a sas? why? I built a Bronco and Guseted and plated my beams and beefed up the radiuis arms to beams too. A cut and turned long travel on Kings with gears and lockers etc... I am stoked with it. I have had it fast over whoops through surprises and high in the air and no breaks just smooth in control. Robby G Won I think the King of the Hammers race in a TTB I believe. Tge ind 4 wheel drive long travel works Great IMO I would not spill my drink fast ovwe rough stuff!

1st this was a buddy's Bronco that I helped him on, as he doesn't have a place to do work like this, the tool selection or the experience. But out here in MI our group does trails and rock crawling which a solid axle is the goto.... A long arm TTB is amazing at speed, dunes, whoops etc... but we don't do any of that. We need strength and flex.

Did you have to drill holes in the upper coil buckets? Or were they pre drilled?

Is that a 6 inch lift? If so, what degree c budhings did you use? I bought mine with a SAS already done but the front axle isnt turned right and im burnin through trac bar bushings every 2-3 months. Also have drivetrain noise that im hopin this issue will fix. Beautiful rig btw. 😎👍🏻🥃 cheers

4" Deaver H57 coils and 7° C bushings. Equates to about a 5.5-6" lift

If you run a manual transmission do you still have to modify the transmission mount ?.

Will a 67 dana44 radius arm set up work in a 90s f150
@BuildItWheelItExploreIt
@BuildItWheelItExploreIt 4 ай бұрын
Anything can be fabricated and made to work. I'm not super familiar with that old of an axle. Just make sure it's an open knuckle D44 as I've heard the old closed knuckle axles are weak, don't have much steering radius, and are hard to find parts for. Most common swap in from a 78/79 Bronco/F150 then getting the long arms from sky jacker or james duff etc.

SAS swap ? I like the FSB I built I use it for all off road terrain . The TTB can be weak I heard It can b3 made very strong and work aweasome by gusset and plating a cut and turned lift with tall shock mounts/towers and long radius arms giving a lot of wheel travel. With good posision sensative resivoir shocks it will go over 2 abd 3 foot whoops at 70mph smooth and in control. Land sujrprise air of 6-8 feet smooth. ROBBY Gordon did king of the Hammers wit TTB and won I think. TTB is great independent 4wd with lots of suspention travel if gusseted and plated. i went Goler Wash and mengal pass into Stiped Buitte Death Valley over 3 foot round rocks everywhere so bad ut was hard to see the trail for miles. I wasiwas proud and happy I made it with out getting stopped for any retry over rocks or breakingwheIi went to unlock my hubs and found they were not locked. did it all In 2wd rear lockers helped
@BuildItWheelItExploreIt
@BuildItWheelItExploreIt 2 жыл бұрын
Oh for sure... I he was a dessert guy he would have stayed TTB... but our main group is all trail, rock crawling etc.. so SAS is the better option for what we do.

@@BuildItWheelItExploreIt Ii get it . The TTB with some work done to it did surpeise me over rocks. I went through Mengalpass into striped biitte death valley over alot of rocks 2-3 foot ddddiameter everywhere, sURPRISED to find my hubs were not locked 2 wheel drive got me there. One time in 4wheel low I think I went to pull back up to a yrail and seemed stuck. I looked out and found my drivers side front and rear tire hanging on the limit straps my frame was sitting on a big rock. I was able to winch off it but must have climed up it with one wheel on it and 2 in the dirt. Lockers do a lot of work. Good in the sand too.The faster desert stuff 2 WHEEL DRIVE WORKS 4 wheel drive does good one windy dirt roads for pulling you around the corners fast when its not rough. There are differentbuilds to best suit your prefered off road use of course but beefing up my TTB surprised me at what it can do.

Truck drove to/in the barn.... just we have to trailer since Mike has to finish the brake lines... right now both front lines just have rubber caps to prevent them from leaking so other than stopping and throwing the ring n pinion n axles on its ready to go.

No, it just depends on what type of terrain your gonna be driving on. Normally anyone who does a solid axle swap is more into rock crawling and big lifts. TTB is king of high speed like desert and sand dunes.
