@@bigeyezzzzzzz Her’s was the first record I ever bought in my life. I first saw her in ‘68 at the Carter Barron Amphitheater in Washington D.C. I was at two of her greatest and most special concerts-both available here on KZbin-The Park West (for Soundstage) and the Rialto Square Theater in Joliet, IL (America Live), but I have seen her live a couple of dozen times at many different venues. Regarding your song, I saw her at one of those summer venues, with a pavilion and large grassy areas, outside of Chicago, called Poplar Creek. It rained all night, before the show and was pouring buckets the day of the show. Well, the Pavilion was completely full and she was genuinely surprised anyone showed up. Anyway, this was when she sang your song very slowly, like a ballad, then up-tempo’d it about mid-way. Well that relentless rain was lashing that steel-structured Pavilion roof as she sang the slow part of the song with the wind chimes in the background and it was absolutely magical.

Dionne was hotter than July in 1980! Look at her beautiful skin and posture from 4:13 as the cameraman zooms in on your silky smooth, perfectly shaped upper torso. Personal opinion here but I much prefer Gladys's voice to Dionne's. I just think Gladys's had a much richer voice and had the ability to sing high but then really rein her voice in too - which created emotion in her voice. The Pips were superb and so complimentary.
