The TOP 10 Best LEGO Sets of 2022!

Lego has made some amazing sets over the past 3 years, but as someone that has to part with their own money and doesn't get them sent for review and free, it's getting more difficult to afford lego as a hobby. Don't get me wrong I don't want them to make all small cheap sets, but maybe not as many large expensive sets so often just space them out a little more to let customers save up for them.

I don’t think the purpose is for everyone to collect all the expensive sets in a short time period, but to have an expensive sets once a year in as many themes as possible. For SW this year it’s the Razor Crest, for Marvel it’s the Hulkbuster, for Technic its the Daytona, and for Architecture it’s the Eiffel Tower. Lego knows 99% of people won’t buy all the expensive sets, just the one theme they are interested in.

Both the Orchids and Succulents are really nice $/€50 sets. Not as big as more expensive sets, they still have interesting builds with tons of fun techniques. They also take up less space, which, if you aren't lucky enough to have a dedicated LEGO room, is at a premium. Ray the Castaway is also a very good build, with a finished model that's nice to look at. However, it being a GWP with a high threshold really holds back its availability

I'm tempted to put the Lion Knight Castle at the top of the list. It is just so much fun with it's many fun details and great playability, not to mention the very generous amount of minifigs!

I don't know for me the starry night is above the Eiffel Tower. The fact that it's 3D and with all that color is just so nice to look at. Plus it doesn't break my bank account like the Eiffel Tower.🙃

I’m a 42 year old man who has fallen back in love with Lego after building Van Gogh’s Starry Night. I also bought one for my younger brother for Christmas. I wish they would run with this idea, and do more iconic paintings and painters. The Scream and Bob Ross are two sets I would buy.

the NINJAGO city, gardens and docks are some of the best looking modular sets. Plus the sense of nostalgia you get as some one who grew up watching ninjago is just amazing.

I love the Bowser set it just looks perfect. I think Lego could have done something similar to that with the Hulkbuster set but they really dropped the ball there. Also you may have convinced me to get a Lighthouse set.

My problem with this list is that it’s from someone who didn’t have to buy it and was sent everything for free and doesn’t have to worry about the money spent on the sets when he has to buy them. Many on the list just aren’t worth the money. I think the average price helps my point a lot but for people who have the money the list seems pretty fair.

I am really happy to see Van Gogh Starry Night on here as well. It was an interesting build with a great looking minifig as well.

The UCS Razorcrest is my number 1 of 2022. When I 1st saw it I thought it was overrated but after actually building it myself and seeing all the little details it really impressed me. I will say the Eiffel tower is worthy as well. I bought one for my friend for Christmas. Im interested in howthats going to go. And its hard to believe Titanic has been out over a year ago. Haha.

My son are mostly in agreement with you as we also have 8 out of the 10 you selected with namely the Avatar and the Van Gogh being the exceptions. To date we have built about half of them with the lighthouse the latest. My son did the Eiffel Tower last week. We have just completed our House of Lego with a 10 x 7.5 meter shed being lined, painted, carpetted and a mezzanine floor built for a place to store the empty boxes . For the previous 5-6 months we have had to cease building waiting for the shed to be re-furbished. Shelving is a huge expense ($3000) but it does look good. Moving our collection has been a hard job but to date have managed to only have to rebuild about 5 sets thankfully which is not too bad considering we have in excess of 500. To get to the shed requires walking up a series of terraces to our back plot to each it. It's there and we are about 75% finished .

Great video as always, but I really feel like you're missing out on sets designed by fans :) As a sophisticated collector myself, I've had far more fun with customs this year than with most regular LEGO Star Wars sets. Webshops like BrickVault, Rebrickable, JorstadDesigns, etc. offer instructions for numerous vehicles LEGO never made into sets. Honestly, for me, my favorite sets from what I saw this year were: 4. Galaxy Explorer, 3. Globe, 2. Lion Knight Castle, 1. Lighthouse. But the Lighthouse is also why I got out of Legos. $300 for the set is just too much. It looks beautiful. It is probably my favorite set in years but when the choice comes down to a lego set or: My cable bill + Electric Bill + Gas Bill - the bills get paid.
