It's hard to find any really good CAM videos for Solidworks. Yours is the first that I've found that really makes sense. Thanks for the video!

Creating impssible tto machine parts is why I adopted a style of extruding a blank piece of stock and making cuts instead of extrudes.

Up to 10 minutes everything worked, but past something must have changed in SW2020 because it all falls apart. Even opening the Mill setup is a bit different with checkmarks etc... No matter what I tried I could not get it to make an open pocket like you.

Great video, I have been looking to learn CAM since ages but your video brought that day. Also, in my course we stress on the term "DEPTH OF CUT" can you please make it clear where did we use that in this video.

Hi, and thanks for an informative video. I followed the video, drew the part, generated G-codes and then machined the part in our CNC machine. BUT, every time the machine goes in z-, it happens when the tool is over the part so that it is pressed into the material. Is there an option to make the machine go in z- when the tool is on the outside of the part?
@professorcameron39902 жыл бұрын
under the cut parameters, under the feature option tab, you should have an option to edit the "entry point", you can adjust the entry point by length and angle to a location off your part.
@professorcameron39902 жыл бұрын
you should also be able to set your Depth of cut to 100%, and set your step over to 2-5%, this will sidemill the part instead of end mill the part
