what if you don't have pdm and it is just a part file with no configurations and not an assembly?

Hi Troy, Great question! If this is a part file outside of PDM, here's what I would recommend depending on your situation: 1. Right click on the file inside Windows Explorer (wherever you have the file saved). Go to Properties > Previous Version. You may be able to revert to an older version of the file. I must note, the success rate of this option is low. 2. Check for an auto-recovered version. To do this, open your System Options inside Solidworks and go to Backup/Recover. Navigate to the path listed under 'Auto-recover folder' and check if your file is saved there. Note: You may also configure backups in this menu, a possible alternative for generating backup files for your Solidworks projects. 3. Refer to any backups of the folders containing the affected part file to restore to a previous version. If you are saving to a shared location, please reach out to your company's local IT for information regarding backups. 4. Consult your VAR (Value Added Reseller). Your Solidworks VAR will be able to confirm the file is corrupt and possibly escalate to Solidworks. Please note, this may take some time. Thank you, Daniela

Hi Daniela!. I got a serious issue. The first problem was I accidentally permanently deleted my Solidworks folder which is I have done it for years. As long as I can remember, this situation was happening last year around January to February. I was so depressed because of that. For me that folder was my master piece, so I needed the most. First thing was coming up on my mind was trying to use the third parties app to restore/recover the folder. I did recover not only the Solidworks folder that I need but also the whole disk. The problem is when I try to open the solidworks file the same message comes up same as your video. I think all those files that I just recovered was corrupted. I lost my mind and I don't know how to fix it. I think I need your help and whatever it takes. Please. Thank You!

Joans - Thanks for the comment. Given that situation, you may want to read the below comment from Troy and see what we recommended there as well. The VAR you got Solidworks from should be able to point you in the right direction if some of those same steps won't work. If that doesn't work and you'd like to engage with our expert team, such as Daniela, please email info@spkaa.com and we'll coordinate with you. Thanks!
