Learn how to setup particle studies in SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation to simulate the presence of liquid or solid particles traveling in a fluid. The particle study is defined on top existing flow results, hinging on the assumption that the injected particles will be few and small enough such that they do not influence the overall flow pattern. This means it is possible to simulate injection of many different combinations of particles, without having to re-run the overall flow simulation, Two different applications are discussed for predicting accretion / accumulation rate as well as erosion. Key considerations to ensure accuracy are covered such as setting an adequate number of points and appropriate constraints to manage particle lifetime.

Thanks for this video. I've been setting a series of simulations for erosion of a pipe vs flow rate and this has answered a question i've had regarding the significance of number of injection points

Given the ease of setup and CAD based GUI what would be the motivation to use other similar tools such as Ansys
