How do I properly simmulate two connected threaded parts where both male and female parts are important in the analisys? I tried running a 3d static study using extruded threads modeled with the swept boss and cut features with helix path and ISO metric screw thread profile and no penetration connection between parts. This study resulted in poor meshing and points of high stress that indicate failure. I also tried axisymmetric 2d study with no penetration as well and it worked fine with FOS just a bit smaller than expected in project, but a understant that this study is not very accurate. Now i am trying to remove the extruded threads and work only with smoth surfaces, therefore i need to change the study connections between part for the simmulation to work. I understand that bolt conectors would work fine for the female parts, but i dont understand how to set a simmilar connection for the male threaded part. Can anyone help me with that? My simmulation is a pressure study of a aquatubular boiler casing with flat threaded heads as male parts, for a academic project.

I have a quick question. When I am doing a simulation where bolts are included and these olts are fastening more than 2 elements my contact sets are not defined for the parts in between. Bolt is set only for very first and very last parts. and not clamping the rest. can anyone help me with it.
