SolidWorks Spline Basics

This video looks at the basics of splines. The different methods for creating splines as well as the manipulation of these splines are demonstrated within this video. The intent of this video is to provide newer users of SolidWorks with a base to get them started on using the different kinds of splines. I hope you find this helpful.

Good job, thanks! You know the subject well and I'd like to see a video on 3D splines if you ever get time. I'm just learning them (doing cabling on a robotic assembly) and they keep going wild, e.g., a slight refining movement (apparently) in X turns out to be a huge movement along Y or Z...that kind of thing. I am using solidworks 2017, but when I create a line with the tool, I can not see the handles to modify the corvature, in the toolbar of sline, it is not enabled the option to see handles, it is selected but by right clicking it does not paparece, does anyone know why this happens?

Hi, I have a specific pattern (say helix) now i Want my part to be made up of lots of these pattern (helix). Say a Solid Bottle with Helix Pattern. These Paterns are really small suppose size of wool in your sweater. Can you help me?

hi, i have predefined points i need to run a spline through (kinda in a u shape) and i want to keep smooth curvature lines and all on the outside of the u shape, is there a simple way to do this?

oh, i have already got it:), by going to system option - sketch - then have a checklist on - enable spine tangency and curvature handle. then the item "show spline handles" is active. thankyou :))

In this case, it means the size of the spline (when you increase the length of the spline handle by dragging it, it impacts the size and shape of the spline near it). Does that explain it?
