Very tragic. It seems like leaving a 6 & 8 year old under the watch of an 11 year old was as much a factor as the lake itself, an appropriate guardian would have prevented 4 deaths. Not sure why this isn’t being addressed anywhere.

Exactly. No one is mentioning this and whenever anyone does (on twitter especially) others reply saying it’s not the time to be saying this thing. Or have some respect. When in reality, who tf let’s a 6 and 8 yr old go out near a lake, in this weather, with the supervision of only boys a couple years older than them.

I am not a father, but I have three nephews of the same age who are just as cheeky and fun-loving as these boys. Just imagining this happen to them is something I can never imagine…it would absolutely shatter me. The little ones only wanted to play but didn’t get the chance to return home 😭😭😭 My prayers for their souls and for the rest of the family 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 May God give them strength to accept such a devastating loss, and the comfort in knowing that these little ones only lived a life of love and joy…no pain and suffering that we, adults, have and had to go through ❤

I have three boys and after this I asked them what the schools taught them about general safety like they used to when I was there. Turns out, they teach them nothing. And before people pipe up, I made sure years ago that they know better but schools no longer reinforce warnings around road, rail and water safety.

The worst thing about this is that these boys would’ve been absolutely excited for Christmas and no doubt the family had even got them extra surprises that they’ll never be able to give to their boys and see excitement and their facial reactions.
