I think this is a great string for a cross in a hybrid, as it is very slick. I use it together with Lynx Tour in the mains in the mid 40's (46M/44C), it's a very good set-up in my 18x20 frame. Decent grab on the ball, not too harsh on the arm, launch angle not as unpredictable as a full bed of regular Hyper G, good enough tension maintenance with this hybrid.

Love my hyper g soft. Wilson profile 95 2.7 stiffest racket ever made. Lead tape to 13.5 oz. Hyper g soft at 31-32lbs. Nirvana.

Liked the "OG Hyper G" , but don't string with at all anymore. It just lost tension too fast for my liking, even at the lower tensions I play. My stringer is 45 minutes away (one way), so more frequent restrings weren't really viable, either. Good product if your nearest tennis shop is readily accessible, though.

Same problem here. What are other options that are not launchy

@@arnaoukh If I were using poly, and wanted something that most shops carry, I would recommend Luxillon 4G. It seems to hold tension better than either ALU Power or Element, for me anyways. You give up some playability (I'd say 10-15%), but I get about the same %s in increased playing duration in return. I actually started using a VS-ALU Power hybrid ( I play an 18x20) and found I get 50% more playability duration from a string job going that route. Straight Luxillon (35 lbs) gave me around 15-17 hours of play, the hybrid set up (40 lbs) gives me like 25 hours. If getting to a stringer is a challenge, give that gut/poly hybrid a chance, provided you arent hitting with extreme spin, high tensions, or playinmg on clay.

@@arnaoukh I would suggest 4G Soft. Almost the same tension maintenance as regular 4G, but kinder on the arm.

Just want to drop in and say: the reason hyper g is weak is tension maintenance and control (sort of). Anyone not liking it for these two reasons should in my opinion: Try Restring Sync, Try Restring Sync on the crosses, and something like Zero or Toroline or even hyper G on the mains Then try nat gut mains and restring sync crosses. Raise the tension 7-8lbs for the gut higher than what you do poly. Then sync crosses like 50-52. Been a really nice mix and committed to that on my Pro Staff 97, sw 327 365g 4.5+ player and coach here, thought I would share for some players out there that are experimenting

I have a head gravity tour 18x20. 44-47lbs is a good tension for my raquet? Can you give your opinion? Thanks, good video

Why don’t you compare it to some other brands of strings, some similar round-shaped and popular ones? Would be nice to have pros and cons.

I found Hyper G round very similar to Yonex Polytour Pro, but with a better tension maintenance. Very good string as a cross in a hybrid.
