I used twp skyroam mobile products for travelling wifi before (before the Solis round orange product). The products were fine until the gadget battery got old. Hard to find replacement battery (not even sure if it is still replaceable). Also, once they have a new product, the log in screen does not work for older products, and you have to call in to the CHAT room., Fairly cumbersome.

Can anybody confirm how aggressive the throttling is? Was thinking about purchasing the 100gb high speed plan with this model for on the go gaming “avoiding some atrocious hotel Wi-Fi speeds”. I don’t mind being throttled so long as my speed maintains a steady 4-10mbps download in metropolitan areas.

4-10 Mbps after throttling? Yeah right, keep dreaming buddy 🤣. Realistically, once throttled, it's more like Kbps, no more Mbps 😂. Consider yourself lucky if you even get 1 Mbps after being throttled lol. You are better off lowering the quality of your games slightly to use less data when playing. Depending on how much you are playing, and the type of games you are playing, 100GB should be enough if that's all you are using it for. But then again, that depends on the game and how much you play. But I am assuming if you are using it when you travel, that it can't be everyday lol

An hour of online Call of Duty on the PS5 uses about 150 Megabytes. The Unlimited plan comes with 100 GB of data. When you do the math, that is about 660+ hours of online Call of Duty. If you sleep 8 hrs a day, there's not even that many hours left in a month 😂.(Now granted the game you are playing might use more than that, I am just using that as a reference).

Yes you can. It takes a few days for them to merge over, but, just call customer service phone number and they'll get it done.

Here is the thing your article did not address. Can it use SIM Cards or E Sim from other carriers? South Korea sells SIM Cards for $27 for a monthly plan unlimited no throttling. A much better cost than a Proprietary Plan. So if you need data to watch movies or unlimited non stop KZbin Videos paying $3-4 a Gig is costly. Kind of crap if you can't use Physical SIM Cards and E SIMs locally. Trying to get away from the Gouge of US prices.

I own two Solis Lite (orange) hotspots for streaming video. These have worked reasonably when when the available cell reception was adequate. I purchased a Solis 5G hotspot to take advantage of the better user interface (LCD screen), more rugged packaging, and easier mounting. The 5G hotspot has been unable to sustain a stable video stream in any of a number of situations where the 4G worked flawlessly. Do not buy.

Solis lite - useless while in Boston and New York / Manhattan during my Aug2024 trip. It was ok while in Japan Tokyo/Kyoto/Osaka. Do not recommend.

40% off data for the holidays, it might be time to stock up considering it never expires......or so they say. Because terms and conditions can always change at the businesses discretion lol. I have yet to hear anyone who bought data years ago, not need it, and end up using it years later because they still had it lol. If anyone has bought data a long time ago, not needed it, and still has it and it works.....please let me know.....because when things sound almost too good to be true, it's definitely worth questioning and being skeptical.
