Bishop Wooden, supersessionism is not “Replacement Theology” at all! Replacement Theology is a negative term that dispensationalist made up for Christian’s who don’t go along with their theology. Supersessionism is believing what the Bible says in Heb. 8:13 that when a new covenant is made it makes the old one obsolete. The new covenant supersedes the old covenant. Jer.31:31-34 tell us that the people did not continue in that covenant. The church which means “Ekklesia” is what the Jews were called! “Calling Out” is what the church and the believing Jews are! We Gentiles are now part of the olive tree which is Israel (believing Jews) the remnant. So we Gentiles are not replacing anyone, but we are fulfilling the prophecy by becoming part of the olive tree. There are no separate people as it says in Eph. 2:12-15 Jesus has made in Himself of twain one new man! If you don’t believe the scripture in the old testament was all foreshadowing of Jesus Christ then you don’t believe Jesus is the seed of Abraham which is ISRAEL!! And if we be in Christ we are that seed which is ISRAEL!! I don’t know how else to explain it! It is plain as day! God bless you!
