"Solitary Man" is a song written by Neil Diamond, who recorded the song for Bang Records in late January 1966. It has since been covered many times, notably by T.G. Sheppard, Chris Isaak, and Johnny Cash. It was Diamond's debut single as a recording artist, having already had moderate (but accidental) success as a songwriter for other artist, their versions of the songs he had already written and composed were released before his own versions. This track rose to #55 on the U.S. pop singles chart, 56 on Canada RPM Top Singles chart, and #60 on the U.S. Cash Box Top 100. In a 2005 Times Online interview, Diamond said: "After 4 years of Freudian analysis I realized I had written "Solitary Man' about myself." Many thanks for watching and please comment, like, and sub for future notifications of new covers. Kindest regards.....Steve
