Another excellent video Patrick. I did this very walk on Christmas Day back in 1989. Not a soul about. On that day I was truly the Solitary Rambler......

@@solitaryrambler Yes its a very popular area. On Christmas Day there was absolutely no-one about, snow on the ground. Wonderful.

@@paulbeachcroft3323 You can't beat visiting Castle Rigg Stone Circle when there isn't anyone else around. We tend to go just for sunrise or late into the evening to avoid the crowds. But with snow on the ground too and not another soul in sight it must have been a superb view and a real pause in the time moment. 😀

I have only been to the Lake District a couple of times; once when I was a kid and visited Windermere (don't really remember much apart from a Boat Ride) and the last time was when my kids were little and we stayed in a cottage near to Bassenthwaite Lake which was a lovely location. I remember Keswick being ridiculously busy, but a really lovely place to visit and so close to Derwent Water which I remember being stunning, this video has brought so many happy memories flooding back as it is over twenty years since we were there. Great video as always Patrick.

Thanks once again Pete for watching this. As you say it was great 50th birthday treat for me coming to the Lake District, when I made 4 films there back in May 2016, this being the first of them. I was very lucky with the weather during this time, so I was a bonus to capture such wonderful shots. Thanks again. Cheers, Patrick :)

You have captured the magic of this place. Over twenty years since I was last there but I'll never forget it. Used to stay at the YHA on Derwentwater and do the walks around there. Thanks.

Stunning Patrick, What a birthday treat, and what great weather too, especially considering Seathwaite down the road is the wettest place in England I think,I'v stopped at Keswick many times and been to all the places on this walk,so it was brilliant to see them again, how good was that view from the bench at the end. Loved the music in this. Congrats on making another excellent film, you should be extremely proud of your work,we certainly appreciate all the effort. Pete.

It was lovely coming back to the Lake District as the previous time was when I shot my last of the longer length films. The music in this is one of two Lake District themes I composed, both of which were heard with vocals in the aforementioned longer film. Many thanks for commenting and for watching Pete :)

A grand circular tour on a lovely day, Patrick. Keswick appears to have the feeling of a really pleasant town in this desireable part of the Lake District of England. I never knew that there had previously been mining for copper and iron in the area, and then mining for graphite, later. It's amazing to think that there is a pencil museum in the town, as a reminder of times past. The views of the surrounding mountains is breathtaking, even from low levels, plus the huge lake of Derwent Water, and its islets. A very enjoyable video, Patrick, many thanks to you, and we hope that you are keeping well, now.

Glad you enjoyed this Ffranc. I remember staying in the Lake District this particular week was a nice birthday present to me. Keswick's a great place and a good base for the northern part of the Lakes, but it does get very busy. I'm much better now thanks, almost back to 100% 👍

A brilliant adventure Patrick. I thought that Keswick looked like Banff from some angles - simply spectacular. And what a day. Truly Patrick this was a spiritual video for me. I cannot explain it but I have just been compelled to visit this place this year if I can. Thank you for sharing. I thought your script was really good on this one especially when you spoke of the mystery of the stone circle adding to its power and atmosphere. Loved that. Well, take care and all the best as always. Mark

Hey Mark really pleased you liked this one. I can see what you mean about Banff, Keswick certainly has the Alpine look doesn't it. This was a real treat for me, which I think I spoke about in this film, because it was a 50th birthday present at the time. You'd love Keswick Mark, the only thing against it is that it's so busy with other walkers and visitors, like most of the Lake District really. Yeah that stone circle was pretty fab, a lovely walk around there I thought. Well thanks for watching this one Mark. All the best to you and keep safe. Cheers, Patrick :)

@@solitaryrambler Aaah, yes it was a birthday treat Patrick. A nice one to. The town sure did have a Banff feel about it and I'm sure it's pleasant in a busy kind of way. I'v noted the circle and will endeavor to make it up there. A real pleasure to watch Patrick and always in full with afresh cuppa.

Well you lucky man how truly magnificent , Keswick is Blessed with its location , we were travelling to there last year when something came up , we got as far as penrith ,but had to cancel our visit but we will be visiting it some time in the future Patrick , and what a wonderful birthday present that was , The hills and lakes ,the forests ,all go to make up one of the most beautiful landscapes in britain , its just a shame that the rail link was lost from Penrith , during the early beeching culls , i cant for the life of me understand why there hasnt be an reinstallment of the link , and yet part of me thinks would that bring about a surge in visitors ,which may in some ways spoil this part of the north lakes ....Iam glad you enjoyed the views Patrick as i hope to one day , Thank you for wetting our appetites for this place ....Frank and Lee ...

This sure was a wonderful birthday present. The beauty of the Lake District also makes it an easier job for me when I'm filming as no effort is required in making sure I get a great picture, I just point and shoot and capture a perfect scenic shot every time. The Lake District is always really busy with lots of visitors, but I accept that and enjoy it all the same. Glad this has wetted your appetites as you should enjoy the next few films after this. Thanks as always for watching Frank and Lee. Cheers, Patrick :-)
