There is a reason why idol groups don't get the same reputation and consideration like the classic singer songwriters. Yeah, certain idol groups have catchy songs and I'm not saying it is easy doing what they do. The bottom line is, this generation is too knee deep in listening to idol groups.

I kinda agree with you but not totally agree. I think that if you really like your idols, you will find some videos like this too. About the idols doing nothing parts, i think those kinds of trendy music is what make them famous enough to actually get some attention or some chances to appear on these show. They will have their chances to show what they have practice in other shows. Idols aren't just doing MV that their company want them to but also take part in other shows if they have their chances to show what they have.

Samira Chehreh - Solji was in a duet called 2NB, but they got disbanded in 2012 because they were not successful after releasing over 20 albums. Solji was told that she was not pretty enough and too old to be an Idol at 24 years old. Solji then became a vocal teacher, and in fact, she was the vocal teacher for the original 6 members of EXID. After 3 of the original 6 members left EXID, Hani asked Solji and Hyelin (originally not picked for the group) to join EXID. Therefore, the first group to have Solji as a member was actually 2NB 🙂.
