Me before watching: "How can he possibly have anything to teach about mute and solo???" Me after watching: 😳 You are literally the *BEST* teacher I've ever encountered.

This is fantastic, just what I was looking for! I did have a *little* bit of a shiver when you bound "CTRL-S" to "solo exclusive" btw 😀

Haha, I hardly ever save that way, usually Ctrl+Alt+S because I like to see exactly what I am saving and where and how. 😛

Thanks I was watching Jacob collier flying around logic soloing various groups of items and didn’t know how to go about it. Now I am equal to Jacob collier!

Thanks again Kenny, the flexibility of Reaper is incredible, and most of it would remain hidden (to me at least) without your wonderful videos

I want to give this a thousand thumbs up. Thank you.

5:01, when right-click to open the menu, you obviously meant to say: "there is no Solo...", not "...Mute". Probably pretty obvious to most but I imagine it might confuse some.

Hi Kenny, thank you very much! I really, really, really, appreciates your work. I have a question about this topic. I'm working on a podcast with a friend, we use headphones and I have an always on microphone (track armed but in no-recording mode). Is there a way to let the microphone track on, even when other tracks are in solo mode? I would like to hide the microphone track cause I never use it in my workflow, but I can't, because when I solo a track, I have to solo that track too (to share comments with my friend). Thanks again for your help!

Спасибо за уроки! Вопрос - на русском позже будут эти новые уроки?

@reaper mania : 06:42 contrary to what we see in your video, when i select an item, my actions window loses focus to the arrange window in the process, which means i have to click on the actions window againto be able to use "enter" to run the action. This behaviour makes it impossible for me to repeat the same action from one item to the next by just pressing "enter", since i have to re-click on the actions window each time in between (to have it in focus). How come your actions menu window stays in focus ("on top") when you click on items in the arrange window ? NB : i'm using a Windows 10 PC by the way NB 2 : even pinning the actions menu window doesn't do the trick Just opened a thread on the Reaper forum about this : forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?p=2305336#post2305336 EDIT : a Reaper user told me how to do this : "I just added a keystroke to the "Item: Select item under mouse cursor" action, set to "global" (if you set it on "normal", then it defeats the purpose of what i'm trying to do), and now i can select items in my arrangement window (by using the keystroke when i hover over the item) without losing the actions window focus"

So the Item Solo is basically a Solo-in-Place function that destructively Mutes everything else. Useful no doubt, but is there a feature request for Actual Item Solo, where it engages the Solo system going to the listen out, without disrupting what’s going through the mix? I love the idea of having Level, Mute, and Solo buttons on every Item just like every Track. And setting up the DAW Mixer with a proper Control Room Monitor section as opposed to listening through the Main outs is essential to some engineers’ analog workflow. The fact that Reaper also has Solo-in-Front capabilities is 6-figure Console territory. If that also worked from an independent Item level as well as an independent Track level, that’s unheard of amounts of control and insight.

İf you had an item previously muted for some purpose and then you soloed and unsoloed some other item, will be that muted item unmuted as well?

It is with such pleasure and joy that I watch each and every video you make Keny. Thank you again for all these very useful Reaper tips and tricks. I have one question though. If each time we assign an action to a shortcut key then what will happen when we have no more action keys left to trigger since we used them all. In other words, how on earth we will keep on our mind what shortcut triggers which action?
@djabthrash4 жыл бұрын
use the "find shortcut" button in the actions menu ?
@yutehube44682 жыл бұрын
@@djabthrash That's right. I'm not sure what he's asking but I know what he means - there's so many actions it's impossible to remember them... I just keep notes of it all in Rich Text files. I made like a FAQ to myself lol.

First at all thank you for your great job. But, I wonder if is here any way to mute a region without having to split the track ? I'm trying without any succes!
