Lovely. My daughter and I camped in the middle of that lake when it was bone dry once, taking the exact same bushwhack. 😊 We also noted that great campsite along Indian Creek. Such a lovely area. Looks like you took a better way down. That’s the way I’d take up next time. Cheers!

Awesome! Yeah that entire area is really great. The lake was the fullest I have seen it. The big oak tree camp site would be perfect also due to Indian Creek location and it running a decent amount of the year.

Great video and trip Brad! Andrea and I enjoyed this one. Very pretty back there, bushwacking looked like no fun! Cool little lake.

Thank you! It’s a great place and has possibilities to connect to lots of other trails. Water is usually available at Indian Creek for 6+ months out of the year.

On the map it looks like Pine Mountain / Indian Potrero is just north of this lake which probably easier to reach. This hike is on my bucket list for this spring. Thanks for making the video.

Really well done brotha, . Love the solitude you had all by yourself and that was an awesome sunset & sunrise. Yeah I remember that bush wacking and it’s no joke! Lucky to not get any ticks for you. Thanks really enjoyed that!

Thank you! It really was a nice quick getaway. The brush was much tougher since we were there. I appreciate the feedback.

That looks like a great one to take advantage of this wet year. I Imagine on a more typical dry year it wouldn't be as nice. Also nice to occasionally do those " easy" trips that allow for some luxuries like brewed coffee. I remember some hikes in Schad's book where he recommends bringing clippers for the vegetation. I wonder if anyone has come up with ultralight clippers?
@wolfeadventures Жыл бұрын
The rain really made this trip so much greener than it normally is. And yes, short trips mean a chair and real coffee lol. I believe I’ve seen titanium clippers. Would have been helpful here for sure.

Do you need any kind of permit to go out backpacking or camping overnight in the Cleveland national forest?
@wolfeadventures Жыл бұрын
You do. You can email them your application and they usually get back to you within 24 hours. Very easy and free. www.fs.usda.gov/main/cleveland/passes-permits/recreation look down the page under dispersed camping.

Is there map available for this trail?

No specific map. You can use CalTopo and plan a hike though. Very useful website and app.
