Trekking pole suggestion. Buy a carbon pole from ‘Bearbones Bikepacking Shop’. Purpose made pole just for the tent, not for trekking, so it will be much more compact to fit in your bikepacking bags and much lighter too. 👌🙂

Absolutely loved exploring IOM by bike in the late 90's, recognised some of the roads and areas, but they've clearly got a lot more proper MTB stuff these days (was very new back then). It's an absolute pain m8, I got mine touring Europe of the old motorbike, apparently its called squaddies jeep arse when the soldiers spent shit loads of time flying around in jeeps and land rovers:-(

I'm with you regarding the Lanshan 1, nice weight and compact but a massive pain in the arse to get used to. As for the Jetboil, big waste of money, steer clear. i always use a little alcohol burner (homemade) and titanium mug, failsafe and a lot cheaper, although a lot slower to boil but who's in a hurry when we're out there enjoying life?
