Solo Cait Sith v Gilgamesh speedkill

Really makes me wonder how much time players are putting into this game. You got overall progression, mastering abilities, mastering individual characters, the processe it takes to unlock secret bosses, mastering combat against said bosses, etc.

Cait only gets a couple chapters in the game. He's real weird to use and that's a shame because he's so interesting once you figure him out. But most players are never gonna put in the work. You don't need to either. Can go the whole game with Cloud/Barret/Tifa or Cloud/Aerith/Tifa and never hit a hiccup at least in normal mode

@@aethertruck I did deeply regret ignoring him once I hit the final boss rush 😅 the chapter 12 section, specifically the fight with the two headed fucker, gave me a lot more trouble that it should have also lol. Still made it through nonetheless, and spent more time to learn him during my hard mode run for suree. He’s so fun to use. The combat designers really did a commendable job making each character so distinct from one another, while all being fun in their own right.

The cait sith left stick dodge is pretty sick-but super hard to master. I’ve gotten the timing well to double left stick dodge odins double spear swipe but can’t quite get the timing on helmcleaver (I always do it too early cuz helmcleaver hangs so long before coming down). so I usually still perfect block the helmcleaver and take the pink bracelets-then cast an aga spell to get reprisal to interrupt his next move. Finally did a 0 zantetsuken full might Odin cait sith run today. He started casting it once but I interrupt it with stagger so I still count it as clean 🥳👍 but yeah the way you can perfect block or do the left stick dodges even while cait sith is casting a spell is super busted and I love it. 😂

I am super inconsistent with the spin dodge. Helmcleaver feels like it has a prolonged hitbox so I stopped trying. I can dodge it better with a moogle dismount or if I have ATB I use dodge n' dive. When I have bracelets as Cait I just throw dice or heal. You can actually do a lot of damage to him in melee range with his melee spam attack and -aga spells are super consistent ways to continue the pressure even with bracelets because of the armor. Imo Odin is much easier in the Odin/Alex combo fight because he has lower health, and once you do 20% damage to him, they split up the rest of the fight if you know what you're doing

Nice show, Cait Sith is more a support character but his damage output is pretty high too.

Cait Sith is beyond busted. He's just completely unintuitive and he's hard to use even when you know all his unique tools. He's definitely got a godly support kit but his dps tools beat Cloud any day, on top of other benefits. It's just that his moogle makes him extremely fragile so you constantly need to mind it, but if you do, Cait pays more dividends than probably any character except maybe Tifa (and Yuffie if you count her exploit, which I am on the fence about since it requires Aerith, and also feels unintended for her to refund ATB with it even when she doesn't dodge anything)

@@aethertruck yeah he has the kit, but that's what's holding him back. He's kind of frustration to use sometimes 😂

Did you just consistently try to get to Gilgamesh to practice parrying his attacks?

Basically. I practiced him more in 3 person parties but over time have tried to solo on multiple characters. There's not really a way to practice him otherwise (unless you make a save file before his protorelic fight) but I've beaten this challenge like 30 times and failed it 10 times that. So a few dozen hours of practice

What sort of Precision Defense sorcery bullshit is this? The perfect block in my game only works when it feels like it. Hell I can parry in Elden Ring better than I can do this shit.

2:37 is that triangle attack damage?

Yes, triangle attack is his strongest single nuke but building up to one of the attacks takes a pretty long buildup. I generally get 1 or 2 in a fight

@@aethertruck I also noticed when I play Cait on the moogle, I need press R1 slightly earlier for the perfect block.

@@tboomgaming the moogle is the thing that needs to block and it's never idle so that checks out. It needs to take a moment to cancel its action. But it's still by far the best perfect blocker in the game because Cait can cast freely while it blocks

​​@@aethertruck if you're actively moving the moogle you can get the perfect block out a little sooner than other animations I believe but that requires him to not be hitting things which isn't really ideal when you can just learn the slightly delayed timing of his PB when interrupting it's attacks.

How are you able to block while attacking?

That's just something Cait can do while riding his moogle. It's dangerous though because the moogle is extremely frail and failing to perfect block often get him killed
