Towards the end of my single years, I finally got comfortable going on solo dates. I got tired of missing life because I didn’t have someone to go somewhere with. I used to love taking myself to the movies in the middle of the day. I really enjoyed myself and learned about myself. Those were times I felt God was speaking to me the most as well!

Hi Maya! I love your content and I love seeing more women date themselves. Twenty years ago and throughout my 30s; that was all I did. So much so, that other women and men ridiculed me for "not having a date" or "doing things alone". However, I was taught by my parents that if you are unable to enjoy your own company then do not expect it to be reciprocated. Hey girl..I can honestly admit that even before watching this video I felt like I’m a total pro at this. I’ve been dating myself for a while now and I gotta say I love it. I’m a single woman in her mid 40s and am so ok with it. I have traveled extensively by myself and gotta say I love it. I do what I want and when I want. I think it’s so good for women to learn to be single for a good amount of time just so they can love themselves fully before they do someone else. I taught my daughter young to feel good about herself get dressed do your hair and now she’s at that age 18 teen. She’ll call and say mom I’m on a myself date I love the respect my daughter have for herself. I was always dressed (work,husband,family etc) I never was for myself. I’m 24 and I started solo dating in 2020 I realized I got tired of going on dates and guys always expecting something. So I intentionally date myself and set a realistic standard for myself. I just found you channel and I’m OBSESSED lol. First of all, I always love finding vloggers who live in Stl (my hometown) it’s sooo rare. But I love your vibe and aesthetic. I loved this video! I’m 21 and have been falling more in love with being alone. I naturally like it because I’m an introvert but as far as romantic relationship “norms” I struggled with.. I found myself always saying “going on a date would be nice” and got stuck thinking I couldn’t until I got a boo. But I told myself that ended this year! I’ve been out to eat alone, the movies, a museum and I’m going on my first solo trip in January and I’m so excited! Anyway, this is so encouraging to see someone older, still doing this.
