Episode 1 - Days 1 and 2
Come along on my 28 mile solo backpacking hike in the Porcupine Mountains in Upper Michigan. See Lake of the Clouds, Mirror Lake, Lake Superior, Little carp River, and Big Carp River along with multiple waterfalls and old growth forest. I camp in a tent, cook with a camping stove, make fires and swim with minnows nibbling my toes.

Thank you for sharing this perspective. The Porcupine Mountain area is probably the most beautiful area in the UP.

Hello Angela. I am truly enjoying your videos. You have an innate ability to be very endearing to those who are watching. I feel as though you are talking to everyone individually. Your videography style is well suited to the content you present. I loved when you hugged the tree. It reminded me of the Tommy James song, Draggin' the line, "Like hugging a tree when you get near it". Thank you for sharing. As always, take the best of care.

Hello! I’ve been looking for some Porcupine Mtns backpacking info, and ran across your channel. Absolutely loving the content and your perspective! I’m always a solo camper (and also can’t take the morning energy’ people😂), so it’s really fun to see your take on these spots and situations. Thanks for sharing from a new subscriber!

What time of the year did you go out? Also, do you remember the campsite IDs? I’m thinking about going out the end of September. Great video!

Hiking poles are like 4 wheel drive for me. How were the bugs and mud?
@Gypsytrekker
@Gypsytrekker 2 жыл бұрын
The bugs weren't terrible, as they can be earlier in the year in that area. When I was going through swampy areas, it was more of those little ones that fly into your eyes that were bad. The mud also wasn't bad

Do you have to reserve the campsites or no? Google was saying no but other videos I've watched said they had to reserve the camp site? Did you have to do that or can you just hike and set up camp when you get to a site?
@Gypsytrekker
@Gypsytrekker 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you definitely need to reserve the campsites ahead of time. You can call there or go through the DNR reservation site online. They are often pretty much booked several months out but you can luck out with cancellations now and then.

@@Gypsytrekker Christ, I thought it was all that UP sun this summer. When I was young and beautiful, I would go to Redridge beach and tan like the Finn I am and hang with the few girls left over from Michigan Tech, ahhh the good old days, if the stamp sand could talk😂😂😂😂😂😂
