That's a lovely cycle route with those great views👍. By the way, your cycle helmet is too high up on your forehead.........correct way to wear one is for the brimof your helmet to be just above your eyebrows (about the width of one finger) so that the helmet covers most of the forehead and therefore protects it. Last time that I fell off my bike (way before I got an electric one) was when I was cycling up a hill and very determined to get to the top. However, I was travelling slower and slower until my legs finally gave up and I came to an abrupt standstill, then before I could get my feet on the ground, the bike and myself toppled over to the side of the road and fell in the ditch ........needless to say the first thing that I did was to make sure that no one (apart from my friend) saw me topple over 🤣. Fortunately the ditch wasn't full of mud 🙂
@CamperVanya
@CamperVanya 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the helmet advice. I’m always pushing it up, naughty I know. Had to laugh at your toppling bike story. We’ve all been there when the legs just run out of power 😆👍🏻

Well done on getting an even better pitch! Even if you did have to wait till 11am for it! Love that view towards Ravenscar! I would have laughed if you had to ting us on the Cinder Track, mind you we always courteously walk single file so other users can get past! They have been improving the track in random places. There is a bit between Ravenscar and Cloughton thats been resurfaced and a bit between Whitby and Hawsker thats been resurfaced and widened very recently! No rhyme or reason as to which bit they will do next though! Ah stopped at that bench many times! Great mention of the town that never was! We haven’t tried the fish box yet, were they good? Looked decent ♥️ it really is a steep climb back up that hill! Ah Sue, you have been in the wars, would love to have seen your stylish stunt roll! A lager and paracetamols can fix any aches and pains! Lovely timelapse and music accompaniment! 👍

Please reassure me that tinging is the done thing? because I never feel comfortable doing it but worry that a walker could suddenly change course and step in front of me when I'm shooting along at mean speeds on my groovy little bike if I don't 😂🤷‍♀️. Lovely area you live in. I saved the bigger Whitby & Scarborough for a quieter time of year because as you'll see, RHB was busy enough for me. Fish Box was yum! Sorry to hear about the fall - it's horrible when that happens. 🤕 Another lovely vlog though. After Patrick died our friends in England that we used to meet up for our anniversary in Wales tried to get me to do a similar get-together and avoiding Wales they arranged Whitby but I couldn't go - waaaaaaay too soon. They've carried on the meet-ups at the end of August each year since and I still haven't gone, but seeing your images of Robin Hood Bay and surrounding areas maybe I should try next year. ❤ You ALWAYS seem to find a good chip shop! I hear what you say about getting better at being out about solo, sadly I am not there - I was in Birmingham in August and tried to push myself to go into somewhere to sit and eat food but couldn't quite do it, ended up with a sandwich from Tesco and a seat on a wall! Love it. Please do not oil the brakes. The mechanism yes the brakes please no. I was thinking a bike would do me good but perhaps not.

Sorry, no, don’t worry I won’t. I worded that incorrectly. Bikes are great for exploring further afield. Don’t let my stupidity put you off lol 😊👍🏻

Not keen on that cinder track, or biking to be honest but the fish and chips looked delish 😉😂

Haha excellent fish n chips 😋. I love cycling, always have done and love my little foldable travel bike. Just hope they improve the Cinder Path, it could be such a great ride.

The trouble is no bike is right for all conditions, I remember it looking good on a tow path in a previous video. I don't know if has been as dry up there as it was in Essex over the summer. The problem is the stones just sit on the top instead of bedding into the track as they would if it was wetter. Bumpy ride. Hope your knees are better.

Awe Sue just watched your video bless your knees lol sorry but you did make me laugh but I did feel for you it wasn't the bet cycle path. Anyway if this makes you feel better I spent the last two days power walking on the beach in East Yorkshire walked 8 miles then another 8 mile and had to rest up today due to two massive blisters on the same foot I didn't mind cos I found something to take my mind of it 🍷🍷🍷😃 gret video looking forward to the net one. Hope your knee are better. x Jane

Hi Jane all is fine thanks. That sounds like quite a walk you did. Medicinal red wine is the best prescription 👍🏻. Take care, Sue x

great video as always, you weren't the only one to fall, did you spot the man falling on the beach in your closing scene. Good to see you enjoying the outdoors on your own, your far more braver than me.👏

Thanks Mark. It’ll never be the same but it’s definitely getting easier. I didn’t see the man falling, I will have to play it back 😆. Thanks for watching. ATB. Sue 👍🏻

Great film.. that cinder track is evil! I’ve ridden sections of it on my little Brompton bike and got shaken to pieces. You did very well to stay on the bike. I love Ravenscar. There are some nice lanes to ride there with lovely views, and spectacular cliff walks too. Looking forward to the next video.

Thanks Lynne. I had hoped to cycle much further that day but like you say, the Cinder track is pretty awful in places & it became more of an obstacle course than a pleasure ride. If I hadn’t had battery back up there were places I would have definitely come off. The views were amazing though, thankfully! 😊👍🏻

Just started watching your vlogs. I’m in the same position a widow with a VW campervan but I have a Border Terrier with me! I just wondered would you consider taking your van on a trip to France or even further into Europe by yourself? 😊

Hi Janice sorry for your own loss. I’m glad to hear that you’re also getting out there in your van too. I’m currently limited in how long I can go away for just at the moment but definitely will consider further afield when the opportunity arises. Certainly France to start with. Have you been to Europe in your van yet?

Thanks for the reply. No I haven’t been across the channel I’m a bit hesitant as I worry about the steering wheel being on the wrong side over there and not being able to see traffic coming along side with no “look out person” plus overtaking on minor roads wouldn’t be possible safely. I have driven a hire car in Europe but there’s no problem spotting traffic with that. How would you cope with that problem any ideas? 🥴
