I had a wild camp catastrophie the other day as well. Started when I left the house to get the bus out to the country then realized I forgot a knife and fork. Went to the shop to get one and subsequently missed the bus. Decided to walk all the way to where I was going, rather than busing half of it. Got up the hill and into the woods where I intended to camp and found the Loch I was looking for (i'm in Scotland). But I got well and truly whored on by the rain. To the point I was completely drenched. Decided to turn back and walk home, and then got lost in the woods due to poor visibility, making it a total round trip of 20 miles....on foot! At one point I wanted to cry, save for the fact I started laughing!
