I love this - and the message of survival in the midst of the pandemic. If you can survive that trail, you can survive anything!

I was just thinking the Cape Scott hike this week because I hiked it 50 years ago, Easter weekend, 1971 before the park was established. The North coast Trail, well, I'm 67 now and I don't know if I've got it in me any more to do that kind of trip.

I can understand that. It is kinda rough. The Cape Scott Trail had plenty of people north of 60 though, and is much more forgiving.

@@ketodietoutdooradventurebe8366 Thanks. With current travel restrictions I don't think I'm going any time soon. I grew up in Port Hardy and hiked to Cape Scott 3 times in 1975 and haven't been back since. At that time there were four hidden cabins dotted about to stay in if you knew where they were.

Can you really walk like 24 kms a day? This is unimaginable to me! Hope I could hike like that.

I live on vancouver island and I did last year when I was 13. Its hard if you arent in shape.

For sure! It's not crazy hard, but if you live a more sedentary lifestyle, you may need to work up to it. But anything is possible! :)

How did you get transported back to the parking lot, with the shuttle currently not running? I'm thinking of doing it this year but not sure on the logistics... Also, how was the drive on the logging roads?

The logging road was fine for me, but I was driving a Crosstrek with 8" undercarriage clearance. I saw a lot of regular cars though in the parking lot. There is a taxi service that is currently running as a shuttle. That's what I used.
