SOLO IN SLOVAKIA - TRENCIN

I would like to thank you in advance for checking out my channel. After A long two day drive through the countries of Poland and Czech republic, I finally had the chance to visit the country Slovakia on my third day of driving though central Europe.
If Bratislava did not wow you enough, this beautiful historic Slovakian city surely will. Trenčín pronounced as Trenshen and is located in central Váh River valley near the Czech border.
Shortly after my pleasant visit to the capital city of Bratislava, I embarked on a a journey toward north of Slovakia where I stopped to check out the city of Trenčín. If you have not yet seen my vlog in Bratislava, please do check it out. and once again thank you for following my travel journey.

Looks like that castle is only open on weekends, except for one week in February/March. I’m glad I discovered now…

Castle is opend every day from 9 till 18:45

Trencin is small, but it has even lost a large historical looking centre during communism when many more or less beautiful detached houses and buildings were demolished, a large part of what you saw right around the main square has been replaced with the "commie" architecture. At least they didn't intervene into main square and the castle hillside too much. In the medieval times there was a fortification system around the city centre connected up to the castle, remains are still visible. Vah river was not regulated as these days and during floods the river was flowing right around the city fortification.

Nice videos from Trencin and Bratislava shame you havent more time to discover at least Bratislava. Was there last month if knew you there i would showed and explained arround the city. Slovakia have plenty castles to see (arround 400) small and cosy towns and its beautiful nature (arround 45% of country is covered by forests)
