My forefathers migrated from Dhaka to Kolkata and finally to Ranchi. So I always feel connected to Bangladesh. Even the elder people in my house still speak in the typical Bangladeshi style of Bengali or the East Bengal style and they still crave for loita shutki. We call ourselves Bangal meaning from East Bengal. We are basically the same people divided by artificial borders.

My grandparents, on both sides, had their roots in Dhaka.. So many stories of their homes, the zamindari system, the celebrations during Pujas..
