It was not as bad as I thought it might be. I was pretty lucky that the enemies didn't attack me as well. It would be really cool if that island had a special resource I could trade to other towns or something.

13:54 just so you know as soon as you upgrade your TH to T2 wolfs start attacking it at night, so it’s best to get all your walls up BEFORE that point (also why you died to the stack of wolfs a few seconds earlier)

This game has SO MUCH POTENTIAL!!! I hope they add being able to go through the ages and create technologies etc. but make it very slow winded so it would take months and months of game hours. A REAL SIMULATION 🙏🏻🙏🏻😊

I made a solo town near a river between two regions just so I could harvest that area and we could have an actual bridge. Saw maybe only one other place with one. Solo is very doable though I think its even more tilted towards teamplay than foxhole. Big towns are loads of fun too. My real plan for next war is to build up in a big normal town and then go all in with whatever resourcea I got on a mountain fort in enemy territory. There are some VERY hard to encircle mountains that I'd love to build on.

I'm not quite sold yet. Maybe just because the more you chop down normally the further you have to go from your base for more trees. In Foxhole I can hit hammer against coal and salvage for 1-2 hours easy. Chopping wood in Anvil not so much. At least in its current state. Glad you are enjoying it though! Cheers!

@@RobertLovesGames Also there's an obscure Space Station 13 server called Civilization 13 which is remarkably similar in concept to Anvil Empires. Though on a much lower-tech engine it has detailed survival mechanics, construction, combat, language, and religion. I've been a long-time player of that game which is why I'm hyped for Anvil. If you're a fan of the weird and little-known you might want to check it out.

@@Zorro9129 oh god, the influence in spreading further. civ13, sadly, is dying out. specifically in regards to nomads, seeing barely any players. he'd likely only have luck when it comes to tdm, which isn't very buildy.

@@yanz2759 Funnily enough since then I got banned from Civ 13 and when I asked why on the Discord server I was banned there too. Good riddance to them, I just wanted to share what a unique concept they're wasting. Thankfully I know someone who is making a medieval-only version called Eternal Kingdoms, but it's still in development.

@@RobertLovesGames well its fine what i mean is the small island a bit closer to the frontline, atleast a BB base is already enough so that other players can use you're island as a dock or a restock harbour for artillery boats or even use as a artillery base to fire at the enemy

What kind of game type is this? RTS? MMO? Also, did you ever think about gathering saplings and growing more trees on the island so that you didn't have to go to the mainland all the time when it comes to wood?

This is a top down MMO in pre alpha stage called Anvil Empires. Similar to Foxhole. If you don't know what Foxhole is you should look it up because they are very similar games just set in different times. Every player is a real player. And yes I did think about doing that if I would have had more time during this test. This test only lasted about 8 hours. I have other videos on this game showing current updates and combat as well. They will make an announcement in the announcement channel when next sign ups are. They normally only let new people sign up for 48 hours. And they don't ping you so you need to check the server every now and then.

@Robert LuvsGames it might be "meta" to have 2 layered walls and call it "DL wall," making an inner wall city with a second inner wall farm and production district. While the outer city wall is a hexagon fort style build. I'll have to look up the fortification names. But you could really make IRL builds work in that game far as I have been looking into it. I would have tested all this myself, but I haven't been emailed or accepted to playtests.

lol what are you talking about? Maybe gathering wood is just a new kind of tedious. Plus the new sawbuck and automation that just came out in the new test will make this easier. I've spent all nights returning empty freighters with 5 containers to the backline to be used so I might know a thing or two about tedious work in Foxhole lol

If you look closely at the map, there are towns with only 1 or 2 people too. Also he did give some feedback like the respawn mechanic and gathering woods, it is what the devs want, feedback.

You've obviously never tested for devs. Not only is he playing, (probably providing feed back and video of said feedback.) Im sure some people would have the question of "can I go do my own bandit activities omo"
