I’m not certain of this, but I think it’s echoing a classic move from the House and Hip Hop worlds, where Latasha has spent many years. Caleb recognises the music at that moment has some similarities to the music from those scenes, so he pulls the shape and Latasha gets the reference immediately. Again, I could well be wrong, but that’s my reading.

Yes to what Alexander said. LaTasha is a well know “House” dancer in addition to being a Lindy Hopper and Jazz dancer.
