I lived on the streets for quite some time and did much stealth camping. I had a friend during it that would stay in a cheap motel when he could. He once got a room and it was a brand new girl working the front desk who gave him the little sleeve with two key cards in it instead of the usual one. He didn't think much of it until he realized one had a label on it that said "maids card". Turns out there was a master key for the maids in the sleeve for some reason. He checked out next day and turned in the room key and kept the master key and they didn't say anything about it. Every night just after dark we would find a room with the curtains open a little bit like they did for unoccupied rooms and go in and stay the night and leave at about 9 am, an hour before the maids would show up. We would leave it like no one has been in there. Did that for quite awhile. Good times.

@Documenting Reality Depends. If I was in a camp far away from others than no. But I was living in a big area full of homeless camps for a good while and there was a lot of violence there. Calling the police to help you was against the rules there because if you called the police to come there than the police would become aware of the area and kick everyone out. It was every person for themselves.

I did the Devizes to Westminster canoe race x 2 in the late 1970s . Never had torches going thro the tunnel. Always happy to get to the other side. Training done thro the winter time. Very cold.

Looking forward to watching this one, just thought of kayaking on our canals because I've long suspected that there are excellent wild camping spots on the other side. Those uninhabited closed off areas that nature can dwell in, and so private for camping. Getting a bike trailer is I'm looking at. Any tips/cautions? Thanks for the videos.
