He killed 6 ppl in ep6 (8 ppl in the manga). He also thirsted for battle ever since he found out he could level up. He was eager to since before he fought the snake. I guess the manga is better at displaying it, but the anime is doing a great job

You're quite right about S ranks. They don't really explain it in the anime, but S is just what they rank hunters who go beyond what the assessment can measure. Power just becomes absurd and hard to quantify after a point. It gets more complicated, but I don't want to say anything more that might be considered spoilery. Manhwa readers know what I'm talking about.

Context context Context :) Also, Go Gunhee is mistaken here the other guilds aren't afraid of the association They are stronger by every single metric and its not even close. They are afraid of and in some cases they respect him. HE is the deterrent. He is currently the strongest S rank in Korea including the current jinwoo. He wants a successor because plus he is old af. So essentially what you need to know is Hwang Dongsoo is an asshole and purposely told them that he is a beast over the intercom so he would have an excuse to fight Il-hwan Sung because of jinwoo and the implication he wouldn't be strong enough for what is coming. In the novel you get a back story of why Dongsoo and his older brother are psychos(parents died from a dungeon break and rough childhood). The guy that came to see Dongsoo in the hospital also doesnt buy his story because camera's picked up Il-hwan Helping and saving civilians. Difference between manwha and anime for Cha...The very first time Cha appears in the manwha is that scene you just saw at the end of the episode. Everything before that was anime original content.

I believe that the reason, Jinwoo just passed through Choi like that is because Choi's nickname as the "strongest" is where his nickname as the "weakest" was compared from....Not sure about this tho...just my thoughts and understanding from the manhwa. Also, because the anime skipped a lot from the source material, I'd recommend watching AniNews' skipped content...it's quite informational and has no spoilers...

You're right about the disparity of hunter ranks. It's especially true among S-ranks. Jinwoo's dad could body anyone in Korea right now and Cha Hae-in is stronger than Choi and Baek Yoonho and she's only been a hunter for 2 years I believe. If I remember correctly, Choi is actually one of the weakest S-ranks in Korea...which is saying something because he's strong as hell.

S Rank isn't the top rank, the next step is referred to as "National Rank". Basically the top end of S Rank and treated as above the law in many cases, even more so than S Ranks, which are almost immune to the law as is.

You see they didn’t go into details but I’m pretty sure the idea behind it is that gates are put up for auction and the highest bidders get access to their claims. Naturally Hunters guild belonging to Choi and White tigers guild contest heavily on who will bid for A to C rank guilds due to their profitability. The Association is just a middleman in the end. Though they do have power they lack financial power to purchase gates and if the monopolists gates for Sung they will naturally not be regarded as a 3rd party anymore loosing the hunters trust. They are then naturally left with lower rank gates of D and E with some occasional C’s at maximum which also get bid by small private teams like the Hwang ( brother guy who got killed by Jinwoo) or private people like Jinho who has shit ton of money. People who are solo or have low ranks like E often get clean up duty to take care of lower rank gates like how Sung did at season 1. Hence why when he currently barely leveled up from C rank gates he participated from Jinho ( the deal of 19 raids). Taking on D and E rank gates is like stalling his growth for years.

The girl on the right is wrong on so many things, geez. Jinwoo has been a hunter for 4 years his change isn’t 4 years, it is in a short time frame. Also, jinwoo has commented that he killed another human, so he has been increasingly more fighting prone as the episodes go on. About to skip the discussion parts. I like the other two though 👍🏼

Strength was not the main stat that Jinwoo was leveling up, Intelligence is the stat he has always been focusing on in order to increase his mana capacity. He just put some points into his Strength though also and it turned out it made him much stronger than he thought he would be, so he thought that maybe he put too much into it.
