How do you know when to dodge during liberation? I find its too much screen clutter to see what a human sized bosss is doing.

Just experience and timing. Its not as easy in phase 1 as his attacks can be really fast and their tells can be really small but the trade-off is if you can juggle him in the air, he cant do anything. Its more reliable to listen for his attack in phase 1 if you can't see him. Phase 2 is a lot better. His tells have a lot more wind-up before the attack and you can typically find out what attack/combo he is doing before its too late. I also play on pc so I have a lot more vision than if I was on mobile. If the dragon is taking up the whole screen, set the camera view distance to max, that might help. Is there anything in particular giving you trouble or can you not see him at all during your liberation?

@unsoughtspace It's just the dragon covering so much of the boss that it's hard to see when he is attacking, especially since the attacks come out faster compared to larger bosses that have long and obvious wind-up. I think the listening for the attack is something I'll go practice on. Thanks a lot for the tips.

True, Mephis is a really good fight too even though it still has a few bugs I want to see fixed. I'd still put Crownless above him for now if your soloing. Just my opinion.

M​@@unsoughtspaceI would also put crownless above me. Mainly because imo overall boss design is better for him. You can feel his character and the two phases distinguish the fight. He will also dodge in phase 1 and interrupt his own combo if you get hit

Yeah that could be right. I know damage is calculated by the server and that's fine, but I didn't think hit registration was. Should be done client side if this is true.
