How to make reverse cordage and then the reminder to do the pacman thing on the bowdrill set are both things I feel like have the most value on your videos like this. Of course also not to mention that your bed looked super comfy 😴. Even if it was itchy, I don't think I would have cared if it was keeping me warm on a cold night and not having rocks and roots poking me in the side or back is great. Outstanding AF.

Awesome overnighter, I can’t help but chuckle to myself about breaking camp in this case consisted of folding/clamping down the can of “meat” in the end with everything else used being al’natural. Impressive knife only and like you pointed out you didn’t even use it but a couple times either, more knowledge you carry the less materials you have to carry. Great job!!!!!!!

Hi Shawn, laugh. Your beautiful video, reminds me of my survival training and lone wolf training, early seventies, with the East German paratroopers. We had, unfortunately not such a nice knife at the time and had to cope with the bayonet of the AK 47,. The only negative, to use as a saw, was not so nice. But for other purposes, very good. Laugh, is still in the closet with me, as well as the K Bar. Grins, next time, take a German beer bottle, Heineken, is Dutch and tastes terrible. Continue please good videos and take good care of yourselves. Greetings from Frankfurt

Friend and I ran a creek when we were kids. We built a shelter out of the blue on day using just downed tree limbs, leaves and whatever we could find. It ended up being more of a mud hut because we utilized the creek water to make mud to cover it. Took us pretty much all day to build it. Although we never actually camped in it during rain or such I think we had it where it would keep the majority of the weather out. It stood for several years without doing anything to it after the day we built it. I've always thought if ever needed a short term shelter while building a long term shelter I would be in pretty good shape without having a tent. One bonus to my area is there is wind and solar powered water wells all over. Thanks for this video. Brought back a very cool memory

Big respect from the UK, going out with just a knife is as hard as it gets! For that reason I always have minimum 4 methods of starting fire - lighter & backup peanut lighter, storm matches, and firesteel - whenever I am dressed, I don't yet have the level to be confident I can start a fire without one of them. Also I often carry a Victorinox knife with a saw, people often say they're too small to be useful and you can break wood that thin but as you show that isn't always the case and those saws are very capable. As to the knife blade, it's true the steel they're made from has low wear resistance so blunts relatively easy but that also means they're very easy to re-sharpen on a stone or the bottom of a coffee cup.

Your mystery meat meal reminds me of a tradition me and my buddies used to do while camping. One meal was mystery meat (unlabelled cans at grocery store), and I grabbed a can that looked like a big can of tuna fish (which it was...YEAH!) and the other guys had mixed success with their choices. One guy thought he was doing AWESOME when he opened the can of 'beef stew' (or so he thought) and things went great until he reached the bottom of the can to find the dog biscuit!
