You've obviously watched other channels and brilliantly tweaked their theme to make your channel very entertaining! You have a knack of knowing what people want in a video. I enjoy winter camping, but I do some things that I've never seen on any camping video. I always buy a bale of straw and break it down on the snow. Then I set the tent up on top of the straw. It makes the tent floor nice, dry, warm and soft. I also use a small 5,000 BTU propane heater, BUT, VERY IMPORTANT: both window flaps must be open for ventilation! In fact you need to feel a slight breeze thru the vents. If u do not do this, it can be fatal. But I've done it many times, leaving the heater on all night. It keeps the tent very warm and comfortable.

Chris. This is an awesome video I always wanted to camp in the wintertime but never had the opportunity. I always enjoyed backpacking in camping. My dream was To do a portion of the A. T, but never got to do it. Me and my father and his friends went backpacking. Yes, I always wanted to go on the A. T with my father, but now my dad is in the nursing home with dementia. So I do talk to him. Or try to he doesn't communicate very much anymore. But I do appreciate your videos. Thank you so much. It would be such an honor to be able to meet you one day.

He lives in the deep woods and we heard about the Biggest don't recall the info too long ago. I do recall when we got to his place there was a big field of a sunflowers across the road from it. We went to Disneyland, SeaWorld, Knots verty farm, San Diego zoo and the Noaga ark your st place plus we camped in a big tent on our way in the redwoods gr at memories.

Chris, this video is absolutely phenomenal, my favorite along with the video from Seattle Washington! Exceptional scenery! That River is fabulously beautiful, I love the roar of the river, talk about giving off a soothing relaxing vibe, I really love that! The train that came through was fantastic, wonderful timing! Since the train obviously comes through this area right along the river, why don't they make a town here? I would think that that would be a prime location, build homes/cabins, build a bank, a church, a blacksmith, a jail and etc., just like in western movies, how impressive that would be, and everyone wearing western attire, tourists could rent the cabins, rent horses and so on, it would seriously be a money maker I would think!! Thank you seriously for sharing this awesome awesome video! I don't like history, but, the history that you talked here in this video was incredibly interesting, I was fully engaged!!! 🤗 🤗 🤗 🤗

Thanks for the video Chris. Gorgeous scenery created by a true lover of the outdoor life. If I could make only one adjustment to your delicious chilli dinner, it would be to fry off the chopped onion first in some oil. It adds a real caramelised depth of flavour that you don’t get by just adding it in later. Awesome work!

I know that this is an older video but, I would like to make a friendly suggestion! "IF" you go camping in the Great Outdoors ( not this place) with out a powerful sidearm for emergency situations. I would like to suggest that you take a medium to large-size dog, A German Shepherd for instance. They are good for protection. They can hear better than us, see in the dark. They can smell 1,000+ times better than we can plus, they have a sixth sense & are able to detect danger earlier than we can. Yes you might have to bring some extra food for the dog but, you will have a fantastic companion, it very well could save your life! Keep up with your videos & safe camping! 🇺🇸👍😎👍🇺🇸

Song @34:15 is *Midnight* by *Paper Planes* 🙂 I grew up as a child in the mountains of upstate NY back in the 80s. We had our fair share of snowstorms and 3-5 feet deep snow in many areas. The next day when the storm past, the sun shined brightly with NO clouds in the sky and it was miraculously wondrous to behold with the eyes. Truly a winter wonderland. The song played in your video pretty much matches the feeling I'd have looking at what I saw at the time. Such beauty could be breathtaking. We lived near the top of the mountains so, yes, we could see other mountains out to what looked like 30 to 50 miles away. The sun glistening off the snow could bring tears to the eyes. The soft silence because of the insulation of snow was amazingly peaceful. The snow hanging off of the evergreen trees like frosting on a cake. If I would vote for top 3 views in the whole world, that would easily be one of them. Then we (brother and I) went and played in said winter wonderland for hours and hours! ☺️ It was priceless to be raised in such a majestic part of the land. I always enjoy your videos, Chris! They remind me of my childhood, way up in the mountains. Fresh air, swimming in the ponds and rivers, playing on iced-over ponds in the winter, breathing in the pure fresh and clean air without a hint of air pollution. Playing with the salamanders and frogs, looking at the huge white and orange goldfish in pounds. Going fishing, or riding our bikes 5 miles to the closest family owned store. My godparents down the road would tap trees for sap to make maple syrup with. I'd sit under a pine tree with the sun shining on me, the cool breeze sweeping over me, the birds chirping, blue skies most of the year. Trust me when I say this was pretty much closest to a paradise I could imagine, on this planet at least. ☺️

These little camping trips are enjoyable to watch, and I like the historical aspects you reveal about your surroundings. Even though I'm well versed in American history, especially the times you have referenced, before, during and after the Westward expansion era of the 19th century. Those tales still hold their fascination for me and many others, add that to the adventures you have dealing with unexpected weather conditions and the general activities involved with camping itself and you have a winner, in my book. Keep up the great work and thank you for sharing your experiences with us mere mortals. 🤣 lol
