I was the cassio in this vid. Just want to say that you're right I'm actually panicking in all of these skirmishes and not paying attention to the macro due to that, thanks for making me realise I don't need to rush anything in these scenarios this will help me massively. The first skirmish I honestly panicked because I didn't want Elise to repel out and I rushed my miasma, in that moment I actually already knew that wasn't going to hit but because I was panicking I hit it to early out of pressure if that makes sense. The second skirmish I panicked due to the fact that my team are behind and everyone's flaming and I'm trying to get us in the lead. Again I need to chill out but ultimately I'm new to gold 2 played the game for half a year now and once I hit gold 2 everything started to become tougher and my mentality has changed from feeling calm to honestly thinking I need to play harder than I am capable of so from the start it's that rank mentality thing. Personally my character control is better than that, it's just been thrown off due to the lack of knowledge of champ comp and a combination of panic and some bad macro leading to those poor fights. Thanks for the advice though I actually feel like this will improve my confidence and therefor my gameplay :)

Started watching the video and have to comment! I was reviewing two ranked wins I had yesterday and one of the major things I did was look at every fight and specifically analyzed why I died playing Zoe. Then I wrote down those things on a piece of paper to remind myself about for the next game. Side note: I've always struggled with ranked anxiety and haven't played ranked in a few seasons. But watching your videos has made me want to play more ranked and really see where I'm at skill wise. You rock man! Keep up the good content. Very excited to watch the rest of the video.
@conorduke2744 жыл бұрын
no reason to be anxious because if you dont play you dont gain or lose anything. Knowing your skill elo (which in turn lets you know what mechanics are probably most important and lacking I.E Gold- need to just focus on lanes and cs and positioning not much else) The info of knowing your rank is way better than being anxious of being a low elo

This is why i like the protobelt more, you are not as ult reliant as you would be without it. You get a lot more burst damage in the early game, and by the time your protobelt gets outscaled, you've already gotten yourself to 3 item power spike. Another thing, sometimes if you are ahead, your w passive + ignite does so much damage that ult isn't needed. I like to use my R as a zoning fish too, really useful.

As someone currently maining Fizz, that play at 26:13 basically tilts me out of the game by how consistently it happens to me and how I keep doing it even if I'm fully aware of how much it happens. Not using R because I don't think will be necessary (or other cases where I miss it... And I still go in using E to gap close and then expect to somehow kill them with WQ, yikes), not using E to dodge the CC that will decide if I get the kill or not, not respecting Zhonya's usage of whoever I ult... etc etc, it's so painful. I really hope I can reach better mastery of him for those mistakes not to happen again, but I feel so terrible whenever I do them, and the worst part is that most of the time I know what I should do, but I'm like "meh, I can save basic spells/flash/ignite/ult and I will probably still get the kill" and bam, suddenly I'm the one who died (wasting the flash I could have used earlier, not now when I'm already done for in the process) and threw away the game, so frustrating.

Great video as always coach! This is actually the aspect I believe I m best at in the game (I don't mean that I m the best in the world just that out of all the concepts in the game this one is the best for me, not native english so I think this was kinda worded wrong). I just wanted to add that any decent Shaco will use his ulti untargetability to dodge Fizz ulti, so even if he doesn't have the clone out he can still avoid Fizz damage (specially when they do the synced ulti and e combo as u avoid both of them). Just pointing it out so that people don't think it's best to ulti while he still hasn't (to not get blocked by the clone) as that would be exactly what he wishes for (it's a bit buggy and sometimes doesn't work (same bug as yi q), but it's always good to keep that in mind).

I play a lot of tf and get head early but dont know how to translate that into a lead. I know that all these games I lose are my fault completely I just do not know what to look for and what to capitalize on in certain areas. Im considering just giving up on tf and maybe playing more simple champions but, i think tf is great for learning mid and I just really am struggling. Is it possible you could do a video on the "macro" parts of skirmishing? Like whether or not to take the fight in the first place. I'm around D3, and a lot of the games come down to skirmishes that go wrong, and sometimes I overcommit to skirmishes that I should have already known were lost but it ends up making everything worse.

I get you’re trying to put content out there that helps as many as possible rather than specific content that helps only certain viewers and I fully endorse that type of content but I’m dying for a Katarina mid guide as no KZbinr I know will go into the depth that you do and I know Kat OTPs will really appreciate it. I get she’s classified as situational pick but knowing how to punish people I usually should lose lane against and how small of a mistake I capitilize off of, pushing leads and mechanics to the limit, knowing when to go greedy itemisation vs defensive even when you have lead, is their ever a reason to go back to Elec rune etc

Hey curtis, ive been a huge fan since i found your YT channel, you are a blessing. What i personally struggle with is, how do i play from like behind. I mean like super fucking inting people, i play TF Galio and Pantheon. I always have prio, i always pressure midlane, i always check sidelanes, and yet, i feel like, in the middle of the season, its so heavy to climb if you started out badly. (peaked 300 lp supp in season 5, break now back to midlane) Im sittin on p2 atm in EUW, and even tho i have positive winrates on all those 3 champs, the solo q right now feels absolutely heavy to play and stay focused on. How much does someone pay for your coaching and reviewing a VOD. Any tips on a champ to main if you really, really wanna hardcarry horrible elo/player. I already try to dodge really obviously bad people, but if id dodge every time someone logged in a 20 % winrate champ of his, because hes at his peak anyway and wants to try new shit. Id be droppin down to bronze just by dodging. I know that theres a lot of things i still gotta improve on, yet, solo q feels absolutely more in favour of the team that has the least dogs, rather the best player. Is that something that ud agree on since league evolved so much and most ppl know the bsaics, to not int and play around certain things, but when u have the one person that is on a tilt, bad day or w/e hes really hard to be carried? Sorry if that sounds super mad, been on a w l w l w l w l w l steak atm due to super random games. Anyway, keep it up brother u are amazing at what you do.
@havilover4 жыл бұрын
TO ADD THIS: this post is not too much about me super tilted, its just impulses from bad games. im already climbing slowly and i also know its a process and being focus in determent sessions. But would you still agree with my statement, when the player is not significantly higher than the elo he plays in? It makes the whole thing super grindy, since : a. one is still improving and the enemies are not punishing him as badly as they should, thus learning from obv mistakes will be harder (something supports struggle hard with since their mistakes are mostly harder to grasp anyway) b. if you are not chall playin in platin, games can get out of hand really fast thus the quality of practice is really bad in the first place. c. thats where it comes to spamming shitloads of games to slowly get higher, better practice and more quality in games. /what does it bring me to play for 2v2s if my jungler is invading before that and inting ect. Since ive already played on a much higher level on support, i can tell that a lot of concepts you talk about are so hard to get used to. Low elo solo q feels like driving a highway with only ppl that have no driving license. Your car might be able to do this and that, but you are way too busy dodging people that are about to crash the whole thing. Myy aboslut final thought about this whole rent: Maybe you can do a video on how to treat teammates to a certain elo, since mostly they are just fuckin pissing into your games and make u commit to horrible mistakes if you tread them as "good player".
@CoachCurtis4 жыл бұрын
Hey man, I'm going to probably give you a bit of a reality check. It's highly likely you are also one of those 'bad players' you play with. Just because you were 300LP chall in season 5, really doesn't mean anything especially as a support, the game has evolved so much that the only thing you'd probably take from your past seasons is pure micro and at this point in time, everyone above gold 1 has very similar micro. You are likely to be a plat 2 or plat 1 mid laner, so the mindset you are in is completely wrong. For starters, you are obviously doing things wrong, I'm assuming at a basic fundamental level. If you are unsure on what to focus on, I have a video where I cover specifically what you need to focus on at each rank I highly recommend you checking it out, I believe it's how to vod review at each rank. Stop directing your attention towards things that are out of your control and focus on what YOU are doing to create those situations. if you want to discuss further, you should join the discord.

@@CoachCurtis hey brother! probably the language barrier here that made me focus alot on the few things i had formulated in my mind when i was typing the first words of my post. I completly agree with all that you said. Id see myself definitly as a p2/1 midlaner that just now jumped int oall of your videos to get a grab on the game fundametals and improve in strikt sessions without chat enabled ect. My pool atm is tf diana galio and pantheon. :p guess where that comes from. So no worries there was no reality check needed, just me picking a weird tone for the thoughts i had. Btw, keep it up man im looking forward to post results once i inhaled your whole ocntent. And on a personal note: u said that my micro is prolly around elo XX. But when i was master back then, i never formulated the concepts i had in my head, also, because there wasnt german contant that went into all that detailed back then. You really helped me to articulate my inner thoughts so that i can build better fundamentals based on simple "terms". I hope you get my point. Its like i always knew music and could play it, but you gave me the "notes", so now i can recreate much more consistant. Thanks for that Brother.
