I've been hardstuck at C2/C3 for the last couple years, and wasn't sure how to get better other than trying to get better at mechanics (which I struggle with as an older RL player). I recently discovered your solo queue to GC series using the pacifist system, and I'm so happy to be able to say that I've finally broken into GC1 by following the fundamentals that you've laid out in the pacifist system! These videos you're putting out have been so incredible and I really appreciate you explaining your mentality and reasoning behind your actions. Game sense and mentality truly are super important in RL (and even neglected) and this series you're doing has really shown that.

We missed you, bro. I've been struggling with corners for a while, even when trying to do the lockdown. Until one of your latest videos you mentioned we should always be ahead of the ball in those situations. That was a game changer.

Yo Dave! I think I know why you don’t see the same opponents in your games. If you want to see the opponents do what people say they do you will need to start hitting the ball away, especially if you hit it super hard away so you can’t get to it or defend it, be sure to hit it direct to the opponents when you do this then throw yourself into a challenge ratter then a really good fake, also if you defend facing away from your goal so if they put the ball past you you can’t defend it that should do it, if that doesn’t try not driving on the boost pads so you wont be able to keep up. But you could also try a shot you’ve not practiced before or a shot you can hit sometimes in free play. If you can combine this I think you will see the same opponents 😂

It seems you are now playing with 16:9 aspect ratio. The boost meter and chat no longer appear to be overlayed from 21:9 to 16:9. Did you stop using the 21:9 ultra wide screen?
@AirChargedGaming2 ай бұрын
I switched to 16:9 whilst on the ultra wide for this series as I wanted to reduce the editing, and keep it easier for people to follow :)

are you planning on bringing back the 1s series anytime soon? I know you had issues with ddossers and server lag, but so far this season I've played over 100 1s games (at around Champ 1-Champ 2 level) without running into a single ddosser or even a bad server. When it's lagged it's been on my end.

Yes ! I am really excited, I am getting a different internet at the end of this month so I am hoping it helps with the bufferbloat and can help with the 1s games and motivate me to get back into it. Really appreciate the support and you asking that :)

I understand that you can just position correctly and rank up, but isn't it more fun and actually better to go into casual and practice mechanics? Because mechanics are tools you can use that can break rotation and surprise opponents, so when you come back into ranked, you have even more potential to score effective goals, isn't it? Because no pro can't aerial, or shoot, or flip reset, etc. because they are important mechanics at a high level, so you can just learn mechanics before trying to rank up. Am I wrong? Great video btw, amazing game sense
@millerturq44182 ай бұрын
They learned fundamentals too. Having more mechanics than fundamentals/game sense just complicates the game for you. Fundamentals is the easiest and best long term way to rank up because it’s the foundation for everything else
@AirChargedGaming2 ай бұрын
Thank you and awesome question. It's an interesting point. Yes pros can do every move in the game, but they are professionals. If I wanted to be like Bruce Lee, I would get taught the basics of foot works and the basic strikes and blocks for years before I went into the flashy stuff, as in, I would need to understand the fundamentals first. Rocket league is similar. I could go and work on mechanics, but I am not a pro and I don't have time to play rocket league full time. There are many, many mechanical players in this game. The most mechanical players arent the pros, the pros are the best players. They have learnt how to use fundamentals, game sense, communication, vision etc. I would say do what you find the most fun :)

By "time spent behind the ball" do you mean "possession" or "playing defense"?
@AirChargedGaming2 ай бұрын
So if you imagine from a birds eye view a line across the middle of the ball from left to right. Staying behind the line, meaning you can move forward from your side of the field to hit the ball 💪😁

Can you define what it means to pull the rug out?
@AirChargedGaming2 ай бұрын
Old saying "Pull the rug out from underneath their feet" it means to pull away the support. In this situation, by challenging or instinctively hitting the ball back that they hit at you, you are supporting them. So by moving away and not hitting it, you pull away all of their support and structure and break them down :)

The question was: What are rotations for you? because for me, you are rotating depending on the ball and teammate position. But well, it was an essay what I wrote in the last video; explaining my point of view and some giving some suggestions. Sadly I cant copy past the comment to make your life easier :( but go take a screenshot so you won't forget haha ;) nah nah don't take me so seriously, but yes, I would highly appreciate if you can read it one more time and if you find it interesting and valuable, of course, go ahead and speak about. Have a good day, man, and thank you for taking the time to answer the comments.
