Well done on your first solo sail!👍 I must say, with the spinnaker up it looked like the JPK had her afterburners on! What a rush!

It is a joy. Next year I am looking forward to sailing closer to the wind with the chute and staysail.

Roasting along under that headsail. I have a very different boat but stick with handling the chute behind the main, behind the genoa works well but everything needs to be spot on at the masthead otherwise you have to cope with wraps. With your windage getting on and off a pontoon will be a test in lively conditions. Enjoyed the video.

Thanks Brian. Some techniques are universal across boats? Drives me nuts when I see boats furling the jib head to wind. What type of boat do you have?

I have a Contessa 32, as you say the challenges are often the same, particularly single handed. No bow thruster but a lot less windage and a big kick against the rudder, which helps in a marina.@@svcyclops

Seems like every boat has its quirks. Just takes time to get used to one’s boat then it becomes second nature?

Thanks a lot for taking us with you! I postponed my Solo trials for next spring.... In case you don't know yet - get a Ti Punch in Cafe de la Cale in Sainte Marine after a good day on the water👍

I have marked in the to do list when I head south next year. What type of boat do you sail?

@@svcyclops I bought a Marine Composite MC46. As my main is nearly double than yours - I am absolutely jealous about your mast winch!

That is a serious boat. Probably much faster than my ride !

Nice and a nice boat, if sailing solo, put the :one’ pennant on the backstay to show you sail solo. Please keep going.

Thanks Filip. Ordering one today. Great idea. Wish my ais name had solo sailor like the French racers.

Jason- loving these videos you are doing! Quick question: are your stanchions, push pit, pulpit a black anodized aluminum? Or another material? Thanks!
@svcyclops10 ай бұрын
The stanchions are just anodized not carbon. They will be need to be redone after 4 or 5 years is what the yard told me. But worth the cool factor and less stainless work.
