Thanks for the ride. My brain was lending a hand a few times during the race when a little help would have been appreciated. Currently boatless in Florida but moving back to the Great Lakes before spring. Then it’s time for boat shopping.

Yup, definitely adventurous with the wind blowing in the least favorable direction both going and coming. Just when you’re home free one more curve ball with the engine. The guys are awesome on Dock 6. Glad you got in safely! Thanks for making the video! Cheers 🍻

Thanks for watching George! It was an adventure but, as you say, the dock 6 brigade saved my bacon. #heros

Congrats on your 1st place finish!!! Looks like it was an exciting passage. Great sailing footage. I just did my first solo sail a couple weeks ago.... and plan to sail across Lake Michigan someday....after I get a little more experience.

Thanks Karl, much appreciated. Definitely go at your own pace, but know that crossing the lake isn’t the obstacle you may think it is. Pick a good weather window and go for it!

excellent video. enjoyed the heck out of it, I am curious as to what you found the trouble was with your engine not starting and if you could tell me I would appreciate that and if I could possible mention the issue on my channel that I use to help other sailors avoid similar situations, let me know.

Hey, thanks for that. Much obliged. The issue with the motor turned out to be a connection problem with the high pressure pump. The very same thing happened this past year. if you scroll to the end of this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5_TkGV3qMifZ8U you'll see what I mean.

Great video. But I'm dying to know why your auxiliary engine wouldn't start. Or is the answer embarrassing ?😀

Thanks for watching. It turns out that my throttle connection had worked itself loose, perhaps because of all the slamming, or perhaps just with engine vibration over time. it meant that I was unable to give the motor any fuel. It took a bit of trouble shooting to figure out, but it was a simple fix in the end. Cheers.
