You might be interested in researching the Overseas Railroad / Flagler Railroad. Super fascinating history, between the construction of it, the devastating loss of rolling stock, track, and US Army personnel during a hurricane, and the conversion to The Overseas Highway. Really interesting what they did to some of the rail bridges to accommodate auto traffic.

It definitely depends on the area but luckily it was pretty safe while I was anchored there!

I have been cruising full time for 4 years, the number one issue with theft is leaving you dinghy down at night or leaving it unlocked at the dock.

Good for you, you learned 2 lessons here, #1 try to fix it yourself first. #2 Take warranty and tech support with a grain of salt.
