The Solo Stove Bonfire is so efficient that it's nearly smokeless. This makes it much more enjoyable than a typical fire pit where you are always shuffling around to avoid the smoke in your face. The Bonfire can be used almost anywhere. We use it for both camping and in our backyard. We think that you will love this product as much as we do. You can't help but be impressed with the high quality and efficiency. Other than a little lighter fluid to help the fire start up faster, the efficiency is solely because of the technology behind the product. Thanks for watching!

My experience owning a Bonfire now for two years is that it is always very easy to get a fire going. Windy conditions make no difference, minimal fire starting things, one match, boom, fire. It should be noted that throughout the burn, it works better and better, the smaller your wood pieces. Note also that most of the heat given off comes from the plume of flames ABOVE the firebox, so it's good that it sits low. If you are using it to warm yourself, you will WANT it low. Those flames will warm you nicely from 6 feet or more away, but you will feel little or nothing from the firebox even 3 feet away, and you can indeed touch (briefly) the bottom half of the firebox without burning yourself. Get a roaring fire going, and you can heat your teepee or yurt nicely.

Yeah it will dry up and brown the grass in just one use for sure, it’s happened to me. I don’t have the ring so I’m not sure if it would prevent that either. I mostly use it in existing fire pits just for the smokeless option. Thanks for checking out our video.

@SweetLifeAdventures

You could definitely prop it up on some bricks! The bottom of the Solo Stove only gets just over 100 degrees. Solo Stove also sales an attachment to go under the Bonfire so you can set it on decks and more delicate things. Thanks for watching Zombie Dave

I have both the Solo Bonfire and the BioLite Fire Pit. The Solo Bonfire doesn’t hold a candle to the BioLite Fire Pit. The BioLite radiates heat in all directions and not just upwards like the solo bonfire. In order to get warm with the Solo you need to practically sit over it or super close to get warm in cold weather. In order to get the Solo raging to produce a lot of heat you need tons of wood in it. The BioLite you don’t need much wood at all to get raging heat. With the BioLite when your wanting to put the fire out you just crank up the fan to the highest setting and the fire burns out in 10-15 minutes. Once the wood is all consumed the pit cools down in a few minutes. You can cook on the BioLite and control the temp using the fan speeds. It also folds up much smaller for packing. The Solo is huge and bulky and awkward to pack if space is limited. The BioLites battery lasted me for 4 nights of fires on one charge. If you keep it plugged in to the covers built in solar panel during the day you could get infinite battery. If you run the fan speed on low or moderate low the wood burning efficiency and battery life is incredible. After a year of using and tons of charges the battery still lasts for days. No signs of slowing down. Also the Solo Only burns it’s wood at one speed which equivalent to burning wood in the BioLite on its High to Max fan speed (there are 4 speeds; Max, High, Med, Low). If I just have the BioLite fan speed down to its Med or Low setting the wood consumption efficiency is far greater than the Solo. One last thing. I can also control the height of the flame using different fan speeds which is a pretty cool feature. Plus the BioLite is $100 less ($199). The bioLite has legs so you won’t Scorch the grass. My Solo creates a dead grass ring. You can’t put the solo on a composite deck without a protective barrier but you can the BioLite. Because the BioLite has forced air you can crank it up to its highest fan speed when starting the fire and get a raging fire in less than half the time as the Solo. The BioLite has handles so you can move it around while it’s burning. The Solo can’t really be moved once it’s going.

how much heat does it put out?
@SweetLifeAdventures
@SweetLifeAdventures 5 жыл бұрын
I wish I had an exact heat and distance reading for ya, maybe someday I’ll be ale to get that. For now all I can tell you is that it radiates heat as well if not better than a normal fire pit in my opinion. The reason I say maybe better is because it is such a complete fire encompassing the entire logs with flame, utilizing all the fuel and oxygen available to it, which is more than your typical fire pit. I hope that answer helps.

With the release of the Yukon, do you think it would be worth the extra money? Do you ever find yourself wishing your Bonfire was larger?
@SweetLifeAdventures
@SweetLifeAdventures 5 жыл бұрын
I think the Yukon would be great for a backyard fire pit if you entertain large groups of people. The Bonfire is perfect for taking roadside camping as it’s still a good size but still easily portable. With all the camping my family does I still feel the Bonfire is a perfect fit for us. We generally don’t have anymore than 12 people around the Bonfire and it keeps everyone pretty toasty. Hope that helps.

We have burned a fire for a good chunk of the day and night with no loss of function due to combustible material. It’s amazing how a pile of wood can be burned into such a small pile of ash. If cleaned out after a big burn like described above you will have no loss of performance. Hope that helps!

Does it get hot enough that its impossible to move around during use?
@SweetLifeAdventures
@SweetLifeAdventures 6 жыл бұрын
It does get extremely hot, but can be moved with outdoor leather cooking gloves like used for Dutch oven cooking. You also want the flame to die down a bit before moving it since your face gets close to the unit. I have done it a couple times with no issue but would only move it if absolutely necessary while it’s hot.
@SweetLifeAdventures
@SweetLifeAdventures 6 жыл бұрын
HB Cho is there a specific concern you had, or reason for moving it? I moved it one time because it started to rain pretty hard and water on hot steel can warp the steel.

I'd want to move it if I had it in my driveway but wouldn't want it sitting out overnight. How easy would this be to move it back in the garage? I'm assuming it will stay hot for awhile...@@SweetLifeAdventures
@SweetLifeAdventures
@SweetLifeAdventures 5 жыл бұрын
It does stay hot for quite some time because it burns the wood to a fine ash. If you need to move it before it’s fully cooled you can use outdoor leather cooking gloves like the ones for Dutch oven cooking. I have done this numerous times and moving it while hot but with minimal flame was not a problem. It takes several hours to fully burn off and cool down so you can move it if you have time to wait too. Thanks for checking out our video Mike.
