Theres indeed a Requirement and Strict rule for helmet! Police wale Rokte hai waha bhi, unke mood par depend hota hai! But Helmet Mandatory hai. French Colony is just a Small part! Rest of the Pondicherry is just like anyother town in India.

And we are from kolkata ... train will reach chennai central at 3 am ! then how to reach pondicherry ? will we get transport at that time ? and how safe it is to travel there at that time ? and any idea about fare of taxi from chennai central to pondicherry (auroville) ? we've never been in south india before !
