@Jens. I have to say that you are on the right track. After exhaustive research on the best way to keep warm, I too have come to the conclusion to use an electric heating blanket. However, AC blankets are usually a mistake, unless (as you found out) you have a large generator (1000watts or more). The best thing is to get a 12volt heating blanket as they are far more efficient. For starters, they use lower wattage, around 40 to 60 watts, as opposed to the 100watts an AC blanket uses. Second, you don't need to use the inverter which, in itself, uses power. The funny thing is, in many cases, you don't know what that power is. While an inverter is very handy for quick draws of high current, they are not good for extended runs. I have tested a blanket that uses about 60 watts that is 12 volts and once it is warmed up, it DOES cycle. I have a 600wh generator and that does get me through the night and then some. Some blankets have a low setting of using only 45 watts and on a 600wh generator, that should get you about 2 nights. You do have to do your homework though as I have tested some blankets and they were complete duds and only got lukewarm on high. But there are some that work VERY well. The better one I have is Magiona brand and I got it on Amazon. Sadly, they don't have it available anymore. I bought another (as I wanted more)on a site called Temu and it looks really nice. I bought it based on this review: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jGbEhpqrbtZ3bsU

Wow thank you for all that info! That saves me a lot of time and makes a lot of sense man. I'll be sure to check out that blanket. Thanks for taking your time to comment that I appreciate it. I'll be remaking this video in the future testing out one of those for sure

@@jens-dransfield You're Welcome! Just remember to do your homework. There are some blankets out there, even by a reputable name. I tried a Sealy blanket and that wasn't good. The one I have WAY out performs it, but sadly, I cannot get that one anymore, so I ordered that one from Temu. Sadly, their shipping is MUCH slower than Amazon. I am sure there are other good 12 volt blankets on Amazon, but again, you have to do your homework and read the reviews!

Currently using a Sony a7iii with a 28-70 mm lens! Used a suction cup mount for those shots super cheap and helpful
