Solomon Islands Medical Elective - A day in Kirakira Hospital

Kirakira Hospital is a small regional hospital in the Solomon Islands and is usually run by 1 to 2 doctors. Bond University has established a program where their students are able to undertake placement here and serve an underprivileged community.
I am a final year medical student who has been fortunate to have been given the opportunity to partake in this experience and wanted to share a little of that with you. If you have never thought about an experience such as this, or sitting on the fence, I hope to have convinced you, that the challenge is worthwhile.
