Glad to see that David didn't blaspheme the real creators of the universe: Black and Decker, who made the world at 9.25am on September 9th, 1910.
@AlgyPug
@AlgyPug 6 ай бұрын
Late in the afternoon on September 8th, 1910, Black said to Decker: "I really like your idea of a machine shop. But how are we going to sell all the products that we make? Who is going to buy them?" Decker replied: " Let's create a universe and populate it with millions of customers made in our image." After a pause Black said: "I have considered your idea and found it good. Let's do it. See you at the shop tomorrow." And so it was done. But a few days later the first heresy arose. A member of the Southern Baptist Convention who had taken a dislike to Black because he could never beat him in a golf game, said: "A young earth? Ridiculous! The universe is really old - at least 6000 years." "if Back and Decker did not create the world , then who did?" asked a member of the congregation. "God." "Who is God? And where does he live?" "He's omipotent, omniscient and onmipresent. And he lives in suburb where they don't let in people like you. Not unless you have the password." "What's the password?" "That information is only available for premium subscribers." "How do I become a premium subscriber?" "Tithing - maximum rate. And you couldn't afford it."

When the Greeks conquered Kemet which they called Egypt. They created a hybrid parental deity in order to combine Egyptian mythology with Greek mythology. So they combined the Egyptian God Thoth with the Greek God Hermes. They called him Hermes Trismegistus III. Who was known as… “The Thrice Great.” He was famous for triumphing over the season of death. Which is what the number 3 almost always symbolizes in World Mythology. Isn't this what the Flavian Dynasty did after conquering the Jews? Didn't they create a new hybrid form of Greco-Roman Judaism? To integrate Jewish mythology with Greco-Roman mythology? Calling him… “Jesus The Christ.” Who is also famous for triumphing over the season of death. As represented by… “The Trinity.” Isn't this a better explanation for the origins of Christianity rather than Harry Houdini magic? Wasn't Paul secretly working for the Flavian Dynasty? Weren't all of the original Roman Catholic Saints' members of the Flavian Dynasty? Weren't all of the original symbols used by the earliest Christians identical to those of the Flavian Dynasty? And wasn't the earliest iconographic image of Jesus The Christ, in a catacomb, under the city of Rome, which was owned by a Flavian Princess? Weren't all of the original Jesus cult texts produced under the oversight of the Flavian Dynasty? Didn't the Flavian Dynasty posses the only remaining copy of the Hebrew Tanakh other than the Greek Septuagint translation? Isn't there Flavian typology in the Gospels? Weren't the canonical texts all back dated like the historical fiction of Gone With The Wind? Wasn't Emperor Vespasian known as the Jewish Messiah? Wasn’t Pope Clement of Rome a Flavian? Wasn't Josephus a temple whore for the Flavian Dynasty? Weren't the Flavian’s, as well as Paul, descended from King Herod? There was no separation of Church and State in the Roman Empire. And Christianity is clearly a Greco-Roman hybrid form of Judaism created by the Flavian Dynasty. As an attempt to adapt, pacify, and integrate the rebellious and defiant Jews into the rest of the Greco-Roman Empire. Just like the Greeks created Hermes Trismegistus to integrate Egyptian mythology with Greek mythology. Then finally Neo-Flavian Constantine chose the Flavian family religion to be the official religion of the entire Roman Empire. In order to consolidate power in his fractured Empire. And then Eusebius edited and rewrote the history of the previous 3OO years. Destroying all contradictory evidence. Such as all of the non-canonical Jesus cult texts. It isn't history it is all simply Greco-Roman mythopoetic literature. Today it is known as Historical Fiction. “What profit hath not this fable of Christ brought us.” Pope Leo X 💙

My issue with Paul as well as all of the religious texts is that the writings are never in real time. If Marcion is responsible for discovering Paul's writings there is a probability that he wrote them or had someone else do it. It almost seems that these amazing occurrences don't matter until decades later.

@17:13 he avoids answering the question why the consensus among critical scholars is that Jesus was a historical person, and instead pivots by explaining that scholars concede that many elements of the gospels are mythical, an obvious point which only further begs the question as to why they nonetheless considered Jesus to be to be a historical character of which certain facts can generally be agreed upon (e.g was the Galilean Jew born in the first century, had a following, was crucified etc)
6 ай бұрын
he didn't avoid the question. He said that critical scholars don't agree on what "historical jesus" means, which is correct. He also pointed out that jewish scholars dispute the NT account of the crucifixion. The only thing YOU said that most critical scholars would agree with is that he was crucified, but the details of that are widely disputed.
@cumulus1869
@cumulus1869 5 ай бұрын
I'll answer it for you. It's because 90% of scholars are Christians. He also mentioned that the majority of non-Christian scholars on this matter are mythicists. If you're seriously looking for a scholar who is a Christian, as in he really believes Jesus Christ is the son of God, and that he died and was resurrected, who ALSO is a mythicist, as in they ALSO think that Jesus never historically existed then you've reached the height of absurdity.

That Jesus didn't exist makes no difference at all to what I believe about Christianity and various God concepts. It matters to me because it matters to me what's true, and it pisses me off how many centuries people have been operating under these fairly transparent (if you read the Bible) lies.

Okay, but even if Jesus is irrelevant by not existing, Christianity remains a horrible religion due to all the European wars between themselves, and their crusades against the Moslem nations and their colonial/missionary conquests or genocides all over the world.... Hmm and a possibly the most rotten religion of all because of the money laundering and scamming in some of the administrative levels and the $3+ual asubes that are still happening.

@@lannguyen-pu1db "Asubes" is a new one to me. I might use that when I need to avoid the word. I agree with you. I'd add that it's an inherently harmful religion because it's founded on blood sacrifice and eternal punishment as good things. One could go on and on about the harmful effects of Christian doctrines. But all of that would still be true if Jesus existed. It still just annoys me how belief that he existed in history was just foisted on everyone across the board based on such poor evidence. One may as well say Osiris was an historical person based on equivalent "evidence."

Like Mr. David Fitzgerald, I think the Jesus written about in the New Testament never existed. Now, my reasons for thinking this, I believe, are more compelling than David's. I'd also like to preface what I'm about to say by stating that I was an ardent Bible believer for the first 49 years of my life, and had cut my teeth on the "word of God" as a babe, so we are coming from opposing sides. I left the church and waved goodbye to the Bible for 6 main reasons: 1). There is no reason for Jesus to have come in the first place. Tithes, Temple sacrifices, and the Law of Moses were in full swing and were still in effect. No change of direction was remotely necessary. Jesus, himself, came to fulfill the Law, not to abolish it, because he, too, was a practitioner of Mosaic Law, and an adherent of Judaism. 2). Jesus did not fulfill the Messianic "prophecies" or job description. 3). Jesus was never mentioned in the "Old Testament" either directly or indirectly. 4). It is abundantly clear Jesus was talking about a First Century return, but failed to do so. 5). Jesus never left any physical evidence: no writings, no monuments, no grave, and no physical discription. 6). Jesus was never mentioned in his lifetime in public discourse or in private correspondence. This is to say no one mentioned his life, ministry, or miracles during his alleged lifetime. Moreover, Jesus was never mentioned by principalities, princes, priests, politicians, publicans, poets, peasants or paupers. If Jesus was even half of what he was claimed to be, deafening silence would have been the greatest miracle, because his magnanimous efforts, and bigger than life persona, would have been impossible to ignore.

Please dont add the Buddha to this mix of fictional characters, whether or not the Siddartha existed or not is completely irrelevant: he (or his legacy) never claimed to be god, the teachings left behind by the buddha is simply a recipe for how to deal with the pain of existence, how to be a better person and how to treat other people. He never provided a recipe for how to play the harp on a cloud for eternity. Everyone has smth to learn from Buddhism whatever harp-in-a-cloud recipe you adhere to.

@@johnf5927Cute, but the proof is in the pudding. Buddhist methodology leads to real altered mental states that are scientifically discernible, and that have been peer reviewed and proven. The other religions are mythologies that offer such mental states after you die - none of which is testable in any way, manner or form. Unlike the other faiths, Buddhism does not require religiosity or belief in Buddhist mythology. It merely requires the application of the mental practices as laid down by the Buddha (whether he existed or not - although there exist vast amounts of extra scriptural references to the Buddha within Hindi literature from the very tip of Nepal to the very tip of Tamil Nadu).
