A fabulous interpretation! All the proportions, all the volumes seem to fit and flow perfectly together. And it's so clear, with very litte rubato (what a relief!). i'd never heard him play Chopin. A real discovery.

Absolutely fantastic! The way (Cutner) Solomons's coda in the Chopin Ballade F minor just explodes! Yet all is clear as a bell. Have heard the best, live, play it myself on my Steinway, but thank you so much, Peter.... This,. listening to old 78's was my inspiration, which I still treasure. I am just an old long time pianophile, very advanced amateur, but perhaps over-exposed to many of the new, often slick interpretations, none can compare, as exciting and heroic as ever! Have you heard Hofmann's rendition of the work? His interpretation of the coda is some of the most powerful piano playing I've heard, and very moving, but Solomon certainly wins on clarity.

Everything sounds so natural, the music is flowing and breathing..... what a great document, thanks a lot sharing!

For those who feel Lipatti and Perlemuter (from the ‘60s) shared an authentic Chopin - classical rather than romantic, supple, ardent but perfectly proportioned - Solomon joins them on Parnassus.

interpretation fabuleuse. quel grand artiste ce Solomon. et quel toucher du piano , quelle technique. all seems to be so natural.

Il faut avoir entendu une interprétation comme celle-ci pour savoir ce qu'est un pianisme naturel qui chante, danse et enchante.

Thank you for putting this up. The Solomon recordings are so hard to find. Beautiful playing always.

And to think Horowitz once described this great mans playing as ''Boring''!. Very few pianists have combined acute sensitivity and effortless virtuosity as successfully as Solomon.

In their original form, I meant. There is quite a lot on CD.
