No. If anything, its the AEW crew who were moving the Goal Posts. The very few times NXT got a higher viewership than AEW, they moved the goal posts with "The Demos" saying that "Even though NXT got a highet viewership, AEW won the Demo so AEW wins". Pretty much trying to take all of NXT's victories away from them and give them to AEW anyway.

@horgh_japan Жыл бұрын
@@spaceycaveco.698 So, this ISN'T about Vince. This is about your feelings being hurt over Punk's firing. Fine. But Vince allowed things like unprotected chair shots to the head which I'm sure he wouldn't have taken himself, so your "Vince never allowed stuff he wouldn't do himself" has limits. Would Vince have done a top of the cage fall? Would Vince have done any of Shane's stupid stunts? Sure, he'll take a finisher, blade or a go through a stink face, but he won't pull a Mick Foley or even a Shane McMahon. He will look down his daughter's dress on national TV though and comment on her breasts, so there's that I guess. Vince had lines for himself which he didn't have for his employees as well. Moreover, while using glass is inadvisable and needlessly risky all in all, being back dropped into a windshield is a little different from smashing in a car door window due to the surface area and velocity/impact. Freak show artists have been using glass in performances for decades with minor injuries. With proper care, using glass can potentially be relatively safe. But again, this is about your beef with Tony Khan over Punk and not Vince's fabled grapefruits. And lastly, we as citizens "hire" firefighters through municipal taxes - should we all undergo firefighter training and be ready and willing to do their job? Many jobs involve risks that the people doing the hiring are not willing to take.

@@horgh_japan You do realize that Vince McMahon took many unprotected chair shots to the head, right? Like, he demanded people hit him as hard as they could. For a man who didn't start taking major bumps on camera until he was well into his 50s, Vince has taken some hellacious bumps and chair shots. He even tested out Shawn's zipline entrance at WM 12 before Shawn did it. Dude fell off the side of the cage at St. Valentine's Day Massacre in 1999 to prove that if he can fall off the side of a cage and take a sick bump......he expects the same of his employees. But I will say this: when AEW was clearly the #1 promotion by interest, and Dynamite consistently had over a million viewers each week, and when everything was firing on all cylinders, AEW couldn't wait to take digs at WWE. It was almost comical, and to the point of absurdity, how much AEW would take potshots at WWE. Cody was breaking thrones, they were grabbing brass rings in ladder matches, Chris Jericho would openly talk about how he expected AEW to beat WWE in the ratings. But now that the pendulum has naturally swung in the other direction, Tony can't stand it. people who claim "vince would NEVER stoop so low...." forget one small but critical thing. Vince McMahon is a trailer park kid, no matter how rich he is, no matter how successful. his track record (from food fights to katie vick, from hush money payments to poaching talent, to paying for snuka's murder investigation to go away in the 80s) is a masterclass in Bad Taste and Low Blows.

@@adupree771 I think the OP is talking about people who try to paint this situation as unique to Khan when Vince did even worse and would have likely done worse given the means back in the days of the Monday Night Wars. People are talking about this as if it hasn't been the norm among wrestling promoters over the years when, in fact, it has. Is it good that Tony is doing it? No. Is it becoming of a grown adult? No. Is it something we should be proud of? Absolutely not. Is it a sign of the times? Well, being a dick online leading to making a fortune seems to be a thing these days. Is it going to hurt AEW? Maybe, but Vince and others got through despite being childish. Meltdowns and petty comments aren't going to ruin anyone.

AEW is 4 or 5 years old, and WWE has been doing this for decades. What Tony Khan needs to do, is use this as a learning experience, fix what needs to be fixed and move on. He can't win them all against WWE every, single day. When AEW was first introduced, it already kicked NXT's ass. Now, he needs to focus on what's next for his company. Not feeding the egos of these basement-dwelling, unemployed little shits on the internet who constantly harass the guy just cause he's passionate about what he does. This is why I fucking hate "wrestling fans" and their tribalism mentality. It ruins it for me. For TK to throw a tantrum on "social media" like a child, is just embarrassing for him, the AEW roster and his company. How long before someone from the higher ups at WBD decides to keep AEW and cut ties with Tony Khan for his behavior?

I watch AEW but goddamn the parasocial thing that the fanbase has is absolutely insane. What’s funny thing is Shawn, Michaels and Triple H are in the top two spots in the company. As far as creative goes I can see Shawn Michaels booking right beside him just like Pat did McMahon.
@nwo2cool Жыл бұрын
Now that HHH is back in charge of creative. There's going to be a lot of AEW stars such as Andrade, Malakai, Buddy Murphy, Keith Lee, Adam Cole, Britt Baker, Ricky Starks, MJF, Wardlow, Athena, FTR, and Miro wanting to go back to WWE. Most of them had good relationship with Hunter. I believed Britt Baker, Ricky Starks, and MJF will jump ship to WWE, if AEW is in a bad shape that TK can't offer them more money. If that happen, TK surely will have a meltdown. He's going whine and complain about WWE stealing his talents, just as Paul Heyman complained about WCW raided ECW talent rosters.
@Superman5000The Жыл бұрын
The last line here was the most spot on sentence he could say: "You're the leader of this company--act like it". AEW's been starved, bereft of a strong, actual leader, especially in the year following everything that happened after All Out. And Tony acting the way he does doesn't inspire faith that he's a good leader who can handle things when the pressure gets too thick and he has to show a backbone. It makes him look like a whiny little 7 year old who got his toys taken away.

And Tony is honeslty destorying any good faith he has with the fans. I can understanding how frusterating and toxin the carny wrestling industy can be...but he should vent privately. Also he should go back to the Lab and start focusing on his product. The Monday Night Wars were the peak of wrestling - It was must-see TV, week in and week out. As good as wrestling is today (and yes, MUCH better than even 5 years ago), the 90's saw two companies fighting for their lives against one another, and would put its best foot forward at every turn. It was mainstream, no social media. People had fewer options for entertainment on a Monday night. I remember hooking up two TV's with a cable splitter so I could watch Raw and Nitro at the same time. Last Tuesday was proof that wrestling will NEVER reach that level again... and that's ok, as long as each brand is compelled put out an exciting product, there's still plenty of good reason to be a wrestling fan today.

@lancethefilmguy9392 Жыл бұрын
Firstly, both shows were pretty good. In my opinion, I thought NXT was better than AEW but that's besides the point. The way that Tony Khan behave afterwards is why some fans find it difficult to like AEW. As bad as the E Drones are, the AEW Smarks can be just as much as a nuisance to deal with. Granted, I know Solomonster brought up how Vince McMahon was petty during the Monday Night Wars with THE NACHO MAN & THE HUKSTER, however let's not pretend that WCW were saints. I grew up in the south so my family were on the WCW side of things. That being said, this was the same WCW that Eric Bischoff would give away the results of WWE every week. When you look at it, both companies were petty because they were in a war. Never heard of the Wall Street Journal story lol Speaking of Eric Bischoff, I'm sure that he was having a field day over this. Heck, even Vince Russo of all people chimed in. He told TK to forget about trying to defeat WWE because they have a 70 year head start. These guys have been in the same ship he was in and they made multiple mistakes back in the day. They are basically telling him to be cautious in the future and do not make the same mistakes that they made during the WCW days. Overall, Tony Khan needs to learn a valuable lesson on knowing when to walk away from Twitter. These trolls are not worth his time and he has to refrain from getting into these useless debates online.
@Jeff_Pryce Жыл бұрын
And I thought the Elite were immature idiots. But when the guy in charge acts no better than a keyboard warrior with no life or job instead of a multibillionaire owner of a successful multimillion dollar wrestling company, it makes them look second rate instead of a true “challenger” brand. He needs to be better than that, because this is not a good look for AEW.
