Oh your Herb house, you took me inside it as hoped, it’s just fabulous, I’m drooling with envy. That was lovely. Your decorations are so nice. I was married, back in 1988, on December 22nd, so that has always been a special date on my calendar. I'm grateful that my ex and I are still friends, although she lives in the town down the road some distance from this village where we both lived together for twenty years, we still talk occasionally. Back in the days of my married life I would go out and bring home a little conifer that I'd cut, usually on the power line so I knew it was going to be cut at some point anyway. My wife and I would decorate the beautiful little tree. Now-a-days I don't do much Christmas decorating, since my little cabin is plum full of dried flowers and bundles of herbs from my garden, house plants, dream catchers, special stones, etc. that I keep all year round and I live alone. It's snowy and cold here now in these tall wild mountains. I've just cooked up the last winter squash that grew in my garden this year but I still have a bushel of apples from my apple trees (and a good number of jars of canned pears) and other things like potatoes for the winter. Today, December 19th, when I went out the cabin door just after dark, one of my deer friends was waiting for me in my yard so I went back in and got her a few apples to munch on. It's quiet in the village these days but on my walks up the village road I do run into a few other local folk out on their skis and doing other things like clearing snow from their parking space and just walking. Your cake, with the whisky finish, is delightful. I can imagine how good that cake will taste. I hope your herb workshops do well in the coming year. I also wish you a wonderful and prosperous 2022. On this side of the world in Japan the moon is big and bright tonight and almost complete. Typically here winters are dry cold at night, sunny all day and with very very clear skies. I will do a bit of investigating to see what Japanese usually do for the winter solstice.
