Hi, great video! I have a final interview/mock discovery call for an SA role with a metadata/data governance SaaS company. The scenario is that a customer (their IT and Business Analyst teams) has started a 120 day pilot, and if successful, will result in a 3 year commitment. The CEO is also on the call to determine metrics that may help drive their upcoming IPO. I’m supposed to give a 25 minute (very short) discovery call to understand a tight use case and success criteria for said customer. Do you have any strategies and/or questions to ask for a short discovery session like this? I was thinking of setting it up as a white board in Miro, with different sections that dive into their pain points, expectations and data needs. Any feedback is welcome!

I have been doing a lot of managerial, architecture and design, and coding on commercial side work outside of my professional work in IT and software development at Cisco. So I was just passed over for a SA with Elastic. I am a certified elastic engineer but have very little hands on to speak of because I was never in a position to exercise the skills. I did well up until the technical deep dive. That is where my journey stopped. I am going to try again later on this year but want to improve my chances at getting to "yes". Suggestions?

My advice is to enrol on online teachings to get more of an understanding of the technical side and you can mention this professional development in your interviews.

A lot of your answers aren't backed. 3:15, great, you have a "broad range of natural skills, qualities, and attributes that, coupled with my in-depth technical abilities..." but you don't actually go on to say what those skills may be. "If you hire me as your Solutions Architect I feel confident you will see a positive return on your investment quickly and also sustained over a prolonged period of time", grammar aside (i.e. run on sentence and missing transitional words to make the flow better) a recruiter just hears "In my opinion I'm great". You haven't backed up why you're great at all in any of these statements. I feel like this is incomplete and/or misleading if intentional. A resume is great, but during the interview process it may not even be refferred to (I'm not saying it won't be, just that in a few of my own interviews already there were anywhere from 1-4 people asking me questions and taking notes). It doesn't hurt to connect experiences/accomplishments that back up what you're claiming, even if those already exist on your resume.
