Put X on left side always, I mean the quantity to be found should be on the top always. And In the right side, the digit towards which the arrow have been pointed, will be in numerator and other will be in denominator.. For better understanding, please watch the video once again and Do let me know if any confusion..

It will be wrong then. Because the trick is to put the arrow pointer value in numerator. So always put the pointer value in numerator and arrow tail value in denominator. Hope you get it.

It is because if a person works for 8 hours daily instead of 9, he will take more days to complete his work. Therefore since he will take more days, the arrow pointer will be towards the greater digit i.e 9... Hope you get it now.. Even if not, you can ask again.. Happy to help you :)

The direction of arrow depends on quantity to be find out, if quantity to determine is less, put arrow towards lesser digit and vice versa.. I think you should watch this video again and you will get a clearer idea of the concept

How we/you decide if quantity to determine which is x in this video, is less or not less. When we compare days and wages(to determine the direction of arrow) should we not think about men. e.g. if we think about days and wages, for 30 days the wages are 4200, then for 24 days, the wages are going to be less, so the arrow should point from 30 to 24. Which according to the rule described in this video is ok. Now if we compare men and wages, for 12 men wages are 4200, then for 18 men wages(obviously) are going to increase. So the arrow should not be pointing from 12 to 18, as you have drawn, but from 18 to 12.
