This is a clear, concise video to help diagnose why your sprinkler valve is not operating. I used it to test the controller and the voltage at the valve itself. I determined that the connection of the common wire to two valves was inadequate. I stripped the wires and reconnected them and the problem was fixed! Thank you for an outstanding video!

Thank you! I used your video to solve my issue today. I could have sworn it was the wiring. Nope! The less than two-year-old Rain Bird valve/solenoid was bad. I used my multi-meter to test. The new one was back to the 40-50 ohms range. Thankfully I installed the quick release fittings. Total time, trouble shooting, trip to Home Depot and back, installation, was about 2 hours. Thank you! Zone six will get water this week.

Thank you! Super straightforward and helped this n00b figure out why his sprinklers haven’t been working for the past week

The troubleshooting determined it was simply the bleed valve needed to be opened and closed. Thank you very much for this video.

Why just not take wire nuts off to test zone and common wire? Why would you scrape some of the shield off the wire?

I tested the control panel for incoming AC voltage at the transformer it had the correct amount. Each of my 4 zones do not show any AC power leaving the box. I then tested the solenoids from the box, and they all show they are good (42 Ohms. What does this mean for my system? All the screws for the common and zone wires are secure. Any ideas?
