Good video, one more trick for beginners is to start with the biggest numbers, then start with the biggest sum of the numbers in a row + the gaps. 123 - 6 + 2 gaps between 1-2 and 2-3. Going for the biggest mostly will give some answers.

5:40 mark a cross before 5 and you have a contradiction after you mark a 3 (from vertical 3 2 4). Without having to look further. nice solving and learning for everyone!

At 15:06 I don’t understand why the left box has to be a cross no matter what. Couldn’t that be a 1 and then the block of 6 comes later?

Yes, you are right. The 1st cell could be a 1 i.e. a box, but that would also make the 2nd cell a cross. This is also why the 4th cell is unknown. Did I answer your question? Sorry for a late reply, I don't check messages often.

How do you turn off hints?

You can't really turn off hints, but you can make the hint button disappear (hiding it). Go to Zen menu (circle icon) > Customize toolbar and just remove the hint button.

Hints reduce rewards!?!? Omg! They should tell about this in the tutorial. I have been playing for like 2 weeks without knowing that...

Now that I think about it, do items and "quality of life" settings also reduce rewards????? Edit: So I did some research and he's the conclusion: 1. Using hints and auto-filling trivial lines reduces rewards. 2. Items DO NOT reduce rewards. 3. Still don't know if any other "QoL" settings besides auto-fill reduce rewards

Settings (QoL) don't affect rewards, but they make solving nonograms a lot easier.

There is no rewards if you play on browser just on mobile. He played on browser and I don't understand why he switch off hints.
